Congrats to the whole hyperthermia team at AUMC Amsterdam for this publication! Impressive clinical results achieved by a great team utilizing the ALBA ON4000D multi-depth hyperthermia system from Medlogix. 👏
I am delighted to share that we have reached a significant 💪🏻 milestone ‼️ One of my most important investigations, “The probability of locoregional control in patients with locoregional recurrent breast cancer treated with postoperative re-irradiation and hyperthermia (#RADHY): A continuous thermal 🌡️ dose-effect relationship”, has been recently published in the esteemed IJROBP The Red Journal 📕 The study establishes a consistent thermal 🌡️ dose-effect relationship, offering valuable 💡 insights into the effectiveness of this treatment approach for patients who underwent postoperative re-irradiation combined with hyperthermia. 👉 A significant relationship was observed between an increased 📈 thermal dose 🌡️ and an improved locoregional control, varying from ~44% to -98% at 5-years, underscoring the importance of ensuring adequate thermal dose 🌡️ ‼️‼️ 👉 This finding reinforces the significance of hyperthermia in enhancing the potent sensitizing effect of postoperative re-irradiation for patients with locally recurrent breast cancer I want to express my deepest gratitude to all my co-authors Konstantinos Pateras, Akke Bakker, Polychronis Kostoulas, Willemijn Kolff, Petra Kok, Geertjan van Tienhoven, my promoter Ben Slotman and my co-promoter Hans Crezee. Thank you all so much for your support and collaboration. 👏🏻👏🏻💪🏻💪🏻 Amsterdam UMC, Amsterdam UMC - Hyperthermie, Amsterdam UMC - Cancer Center Amsterdam, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam), University of Amsterdam, University of Thessaly, OncoDaily, OncoAlert, OncLive, American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Medisch Contact, #BreastCancer
