    🚀 Already a week back from dotAI 2024 and we're still full of energy and inspiration from all of this year's great content! Two exciting days of discussions with leading AI researchers and developers, deep-diving into the latest advancements in the world of LLMs. Here are some of key takeaways and highlights from Kemal Toprak Uçar, Senior Data Scientist at Numberly: 👁 Vision Language Models (VLMs) are poised to play a crucial role in document information retrieval. Instead of using separate technologies for table extraction, text extraction, or document structure analysis, a single model can now achieve similar performance across these tasks. (Merve Noyan) 🔧 Refactoring is just as important in LLM applications as it is in software development. This involves iterating with users and making adjustments to all application components - such as the data used for model training, prompt instructions, and LLM parameters. (Ines Montani) 🩺 Doctolib shared a fascinating demo, showcasing a new AI-powered consulting tool. This end-to-end speech-to-text pipeline extracts information from both the patient and doctor (with their consent) and generates key takeaways that the doctors can benefit from at the end of the consultation. (Dr. Laure Seugé and Arthur Talpaert) 🗣 Developed by researchers at Kyutai, Moshi, an open-source, speech-to-speech model, showcased an impressive data collection process and technical features. The demo of a model trained on public speech data from the 1990s was particularly memorable. (Neil Zeghidour) 📣 In addition to these talks, updates on Mistral AI's model roadmap (especially regarding the French language), future features of OpenAI's Realtime API (supporting personal voice adaptation for speech-to-speech solutions), and discussions on structured output challenges for LLMs from TitanML were also highlights of the conference.
