The project involves the renovation of five operating theatres and ancillary service rooms, such as the scrub room for operator preparation, for the new Orthopaedics Department at the Gemelli University Polyclinic Foundation in Rome. The entire project has been realised using the innovative Truespace prefabricated system, with a Dupont Corian finish, complete with services, technical modules and monitors integrated into the wall, automatic sliding doors and a sealed metal suspended ceiling equipped with LED lighting and air diffusion systems. Each operating room has a surface area of approximately 40 square metres and is complete with all the accessories for controlling all the room's integrated systems, such as the Touch control panel, and some innovative aesthetic elements including customised wall serigraphs and lighting concepts, to ensure ergonomic lighting throughout the clinical process. Baxter's latest medical equipment was chosen for integration, including Truport modular pendants, the latest Helux Pro LED surgical light and the Helion video integration system. Fondazione Gemelli also chose Nicfa to ensure maximum sterile air diffusion performance in the operating theatre. The NAF-H laminar flow diffuser achieves ISO5 standards through a dynamically controlled recirculation system, constantly monitoring air quality parameters to ensure an environment that is always performing in line with international air quality standards. The unit has an advanced sensor infrastructure that can also provide a 'digital environmental record' at the end of each process, thanks to a cloud repository. A robust yet compact design, made entirely of stainless steel, combined with intelligent sensor technology, it is the latest evolution in ensuring patient health.
