Today there is no doubt that automated transport solutions reduce error rates within production facilities. This improvement is also made possible by the digitalisation of #information #flows, which have enabled innovation in #intralogistics processes, eliminating the mistakes often generated by operators and downtime. #Error #rates refer to the percentage of incorrect materials picked and transported, leading to operational inefficiencies and reduced profitability, thus to customer dissatisfaction. Calculating error rates before and after the #automation implementation provides direct insight into the accuracy improvements achieved. Logically, the lower the number of error rates, the higher the reliability and productivity in intralogistics #material #handling operations. To calculate the efficiency of #mobile #robots, Oppent innovative fleet management software has come up with several statistics showing how the vehicles have improved productivity for its customers worldwide. In particular, at a renowned multinational company in Food & Beverage sector, the #success #rate of transport missions is more than 99.8 %, thus with an error rate of only 0.2 %. Oppent constantly strives to minimize error rates to keep operations productive, increase overall #profitability, and improve customer satisfaction.

Since 2019, Oppent has provided fundamental support in the production facilities of the world's leading manufacturer of yarns for reinforcing tyres and building components. Within each of its 13 plants around the world, the customer used approximately 45,000 reels per day, manually placed on the shelves by several operators. This particularly demanding activity also had to be constantly monitored by the #manufacturing teams to obtain data on the entire production #process. With the aim of collecting this data during operation, Oppent designed and produced a special vehicle that was a combination of six mobile #scanner devices for optical identification, on a mobile robot base that allowed #automated #data #collection. The innovative project also included the integration of management #software to help IT teams coordinate the system remotely. The industrial intralogistics automation project conceived by Oppent achieved very positive results, thanks to the high mobile robot #manoeuvrability along the aisles and, above all, due to to the provision of scanners to keep track of all data during operations.

Robotics is driving changes in several industries, reshaping the way many sectors approach design, manufacturing, assembly and intralogistics, establishing a new era of innovations to increase efficiency, productivity, sustainability and safety. Today, the synergy between #circular #economy and #robotic #automation can concretely transform production processes, helping to address today's environmental challenges. Every aspect is examined to find opportunities that simplify operations, reduce costs and minimise waste. In fact, it is important to assess the entire #life #cycle of a #mobile #robot: from energy, production, labour and supply chain costs; to innovation, with the use of new materials, technologies and business models; but also to environmental impact, in terms of raw material consumption and emissions. It is possible to identify 5 spheres in which automated vehicles contribute to environmental, economic and social sustainability: 1. #Electrification and #automation, due to the fact that AGVs run on electricity, reducing dependence on non-renewable resources. 2. #New #recycling processes through the production of vehicles capable of reusing previously unavailable materials or consuming them in new industries. 3. #Improvement of #existing #recycling #systems through the use of mobile robots, such as automated waste collection. 4. #Energy self-sufficiency and #restoration of mobile robot capable of self-powering (e.g. solar energy) and self-repair, extending durability and reducing replacement needs. 5. #Sustainable # manufacturing of automated vehicles through the use of 3D printers, recycled materials and local production to reduce environmental impact. Therefore, it is crucial to consider #sustainability at all levels of robotic automation, from design to production, utilisation and disposal. This approach not only offers economic benefits to businesses, but also maximises the benefits to society and the environment.
