Powering a multiplanetary future
Chi siamo
ORiS' vision is to push the progress of space exploration by transmitting power wirelessly everywhere, enabling missions with any energy demand. To achieve this goal ORiS uses satellites that can collect large amounts of energy and transmit it wirelessly to the end user. We are developing and patenting the key technologies: a laser payload that mounted aboard a satellite can transmit large amounts of wireless power with very high pointing accuracy, and a receiving system able to convert wireless power into electricity. The technology developed by ORiS will power future space missions and human bases in the lunar environment, and also may have wide use on Earth in industrial applications or to power remote areas.

🚀 Exciting Milestone Achieved for ORiS: Loona-1 Prototype Validated! 🚀 We are thrilled to announce the successful validation of Loona-1, the first terrestrial prototype of ORiS. ⚠ Key features of Loona-1: 1 kW of power, tunable from 60W. Power density and beam size control. Dual-axis beam steering with microradian angular resolution. Built-in communication system between the receiving system and Loona-1. ⚠ Key features of the receiving system: Photovoltaic cells for power conversion. Sensors to measure incoming laser radiation. Laser beam’s position detected and communicated to Loona-1 with millimeter accuracy. Integrated cooling system. We have successfully tested our wireless power transmission system, validating the Loona-1 product with receiving and communication systems. In these coming weeks, we will scale up and test our technology over 75 meters. 🎯 For the first time in Italy, we are ready to transmit this much power over such distances! ⚡ This milestone was possible thanks to the support of Galaxia | Polo Nazionale di Trasferimento Tecnologico dell'Aerospazio. We would like to thank Alite srl for the important contribution in the development of Loona-1 and for the support in testing and validating the prototype. Thanks to Lazzero Tecnologie S.r.l. for the realization of mechanical interfaces useful for the creation of the experimental setup. #Innovation #Startup #Startupitalia #WirelessPowerTrasmission #Laser #EnergyTransfer #FutureTech #ORiS #Galaxia
