In this year's edition of SHIFT, we’re delving into Urban Metabolism, a concept that views cities as living systems where resources circulate in cycles, much like in nature. By rethinking how materials and energy flow through urban spaces, we can design adaptable, resilient environments that minimize waste and maximize resource use. This approach focuses on reusing existing structures and designing new elements with future adaptability in mind. Park Associati is curating the second edition of SHIFT, an International Seminar on Architecture and Sustainability, organized by Casa da Arquitectura in Porto and supported by the Portuguese Ministry of the Environment and Energy República Portuguesa - XXIV Governo. Park Associati
Architettura e pianificazione
Architecture, interior design and urban planning studio. Listening, Intuition and Experimentation drive our work.
Chi siamo
Founded in 2000 by Filippo Pagliani and Michele Rossi, Park Associati deal with architectural design, urban planning, interior design and product design. Searching for a form that summarises a vision is at the heart of the practice's work. Park Associati's approach to architecture is analytical, pragmatic and tailored, strong in tradition and at the same time capable of generating new linguistic codes through a process that combines listening, intuition and experimentation. Park Associati proposes specific and precise projects without neglecting composition and aesthetics. An important design trend is linked to the world of headquarters,as evidenced by the headquarters of Salewa in Bolzano and Luxottica and Nestlé in Milan. Park Associati are fascinated by hybrid typological solutions, especially in the residential sector. The developments of various student residences in Milan, including the first lot of the former Falk area of MilanoSesto. Attention to detail and the selection of innovative materials and shapes characterise the pop-up restaurants The Cube and Priceless, as well as the retail projects, from the multifunctional spaces of Tenoha in Milan, to the Hermès boutiques in Italy and Seoul and the Brioni boutiques around the world. and the retrofitting of historic and modern buildings are other key design themes. In Milan, this is exemplified by the restyling of La Serenissima and Gioiaotto, the conservation interventions in Piazza Cordusio and in Via Brisa and the complete redesign of the Engie and the IlSole24Ore headquarters. On a territorial scale, the studio is developing various masterplans, including the transformation of the Bovisa district with the MoLeCoLa project, winner of the international call C40 Reinventing Cities, and the area adjacent to Milan Expo2015, as well as the redevelopment of the Catania Waterfront.
