From 2D to real 3D: A Game Changer in Translational Research Unlike traditional lab-on-chip systems, MIVO® technology truly supports 3D cultures, making it a breakthrough technology for histology and omics—essential tools at the forefront of tissue complexity and drug response analysis. With the ability to host spheroids, organoids, and biopsies, #MIVO faithfully replicates the in vivo environment, preserving tissue architecture and cell behavior in 3D. This is key for obtaining highly predictive and reliable data. 🚀 Why does this matter? ✅ Enables genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics studies for a deeper understanding of biological pathways and disease mechanisms. ✅ Supports histological analyses, allowing direct comparison with in vivo data—where histology remains the gold standard. ✅ Enables therapy Response analysis, helping to understand how treatments interact with tissue in a biologically relevant setting ✅ Unlocks personalized medicine by integrating patient-derived biopsies into translational research. MIVO® is paving the way for more accurate drug development and precision medicine. Are you ready to embrace the future of 3D research?

Gut dysbiosis plays a key role in skin health, affecting multiple physiological processes With our MIVO-based Skin on Chip, we can accurately recreate the gut-skin axis in the lab, offering an advanced platform to study how nutraceuticals, probiotics, and functional ingredients impact skin health—from within.   ✨ How does it work? ✔️ Simulating oral absorption – We introduce a nutraceutical, probiotic, or active ingredient into the gut-on-chip model, where it interacts with the intestinal barrier, just like in the human body. ✔️ Systemic bioavailability – We analyze how these compounds interact with the intestinal barrier and reach the skin-on-chip model, mimicking the natural transport of bioavailable molecules. ✔️ Skin response – We can investigate a wide range of effects and mechanisms of action—whether it's hydration, anti-aging properties, barrier integrity, inflammation modulation, or any other specific outcome needed.   Looking for a more advanced way to study how ingested ingredients affect skin health?🔬 More predictive, more reliable, and closer to real human physiology. Let’s talk! 🚀 #beautyfromwithin

A recent study by Manful et al. discusses the limitations of the Franz diffusion cell for dermatological absorption studies, particularly the metabolism of test molecules by skin tissue, which can affect absorption data. To overcome this challenge, our MIVO®-based Skin on Chip platform enables dynamic flow conditions, improving the physiological relevance of transdermal absorption studies. The study highlights that MIVO provides a transdermal absorption rate comparable to the Franz cell, while offering a more controlled and physiologically relevant environment. These findings underscore the increasing need for advanced systems in dermatological research to enhance the predictive power of in vitro models. Learn more 👉 https://lnkd.in/dv5CA4dj

We're just back from Stockholm for the official kickoff of the #COMBAT project, an EU-funded initiative tackling dengue virus research and antiviral development. By replicating host-pathogen interactions, our #MIVO platform will be used to develop advanced in vitro models that investigate how the dengue virus interacts with the human immune system. This approach provides deeper insights into the progression of severe dengue symptoms, including high fever, bleeding, and organ failure, by analyzing the role of immune cells and cytokine storms, key drivers of severe cases. Exciting work to be done ahead—stay tuned for updates!
