In the last set of works on the beautiful Lawrence Hargrave drive, on the stunning south coast of NSW, we were tasked by our long time friends Retaining Specialist to assist them drilling soil nails in a small section of road where a slip occurred. After a couple of days of de-veg and scaling the site was ready for drilling. Given the nature of the slope and the need to keep the footpath open to pedestrians, the solution was to use a small A-frame mounted Ripamonti hydraulic mast, with enough grunt to drill 6m deep soil nails, 150mm in diameter. We were able to minimise the impact on the footpath by setting up barriers and running hoses through a clamshell cable organiser, while having a digger on the road powering the mast. After that it was time for some meshing. Here's a few pictures of the site looking nearly ready for some shotcrete. Once again our small tipper truck with a PALFINGER AG crane made everyone's life easier by being able to lift the drill rig in and out of the slope and lowering the panels of mesh in position with little effort by the guys on ropes, which were able to guide the panels in safely and precisely.

The RIX Group were engaged by TfNSW to undertake repairs to a down slope failed embankment at Site 75 on the Snowy Mountains Highway at Browns Mountain.   The scope of works included:   ·      Environmental controls ·      24/7 traffic control ·      Site clearing, tree removal and disposal of waste ·      Installation of hollow bar down slope excavator drilling, 410 linear metres ·      Suitability and Acceptance Testing of hollow bars ·      Drill of sub horizonal drains, 120 linear metres ·      Installation of strip drains, galvanized SL81 mesh and shotcrete application, 260m2 ·      Removal and replacement of steel crash barriers ·      Installation of type SO Kerb with dish drain ·      All works requiring rope access personnel ·      Works completed ahead of program and complete ITP/QA signed off by client   A great team effort and another job well done!

Grunn Solid AS has reinforced a parking garage with Ischebeck TITAN Group of Companies Titan 73/35 anchors, drilled to 13m using a 175mm crown, all within a 2300mm roof height.
