On the occasion of the World Day of Solidarity, we would like to share an important activity completed in July 2024. In July 2024 we put in place the activity of collecting clothing and accessories that are no longer used by our colleagues in collaboration with Humana People to People Italia. The donations of garments have enabled us to achieve significant social and environmental goals. Humana informed us that this year's collaboration allowed the collection of a total of 229 kilograms of clothing over approximately 60 days. The clothes donated were all in good condition and were donated correctly, following the provided guidelines. This demonstrates a proper understanding of the initiative's social goals, which is to transform a used garment in good condition into a resource, preventing it from becoming waste. The percentage of clothes that will be destined for reuse exceeds 65.6%, and this is also a good indicator of the campaign's success. About 27.1% will be sent for recycling, and only a minimal portion will be used for energy recovery. This has allowed us to save over 1,347,000 liters of water, 1,397 kg of CO2 emissions, 69 kilograms of pesticides, and 137 kilograms of fertilizers, which would otherwise have been needed to produce new clothes. #roelmihpc #humana #internationaldayofsolidarity
