Involving employees in our sustainability efforts at Roquette is an important part of raising awareness and working together to preserve the planet. 🌏 As an example shown in the photos, over 40 employee and intern volunteers from our regional headquarters and innovation center in Singapore gathered to clean up a beach on the eastern region of the island. The volunteers collected 356 kilograms of trash, such as plastic packaging and straws, after only two hours. This was one way we helped tackle plastic waste and its negative impacts on the environment and animal/marine life. Employees from our other sites around the world – including India, Canada, the US, France, Italy, Spain, China, Brazil and Lithuania – have also participated in various sustainability actions during the year, such as workshops on sustainable practices, park and site cleanup activities, and planting trees and shrubs where employee involvement is a key element. By taking actions like these to preserve the planet as part of our life+nature sustainability commitments, we are helping safeguard nature and living out our values of authenticity, forward-looking, excellence and well-being. #LifeNatureByRoquette #ProudToBeRoquette #sustainability #environment

We are excited to share that our Roquette site in Panevezys has been recognized at the recent inauguration of the Šilalė II wind farm in Lithuania, a project by our partner Enefit Green. This wind farm, with a total capacity of 43 MW, will generate 160 GWh of green electricity annually, marking a significant step towards sustainable energy.      One of the turbines at Šilalė II proudly bears the name of Roquette, highlighting our commitment to long-term green energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. As Edvinas Bernotas, Plant Manager at our Panevezys site, stated, “We are delighted with our business partnership with ENEFIT and Enefit Green in advancing green energy production goals. 🌏 With almost 10,000 employees worldwide, we believe diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) is key to a sustainable, strong organization. Many of our employees participate in DE&I initiatives and trainings throughout the year, and recently, Roquette in Singapore held a DE&I Day for colleagues based in Southeast Asia, Japan, and Korea. The session highlighted the importance of understanding and appreciating different perspectives through other cultures and experiences, which can support more effective collaboration and communication in the workplace. Our fireside chat featured colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds who discussed what it was like to relocate to Singapore and their insights highlighted the beauty of embracing diverse perspectives. Attendees were encouraged to wear ethnic attire and participated in a fun, interactive quiz to heighten awareness about DE&I. To cap off the activity, they were treated to iconic refreshments representing the best of French and Southeast Asian cuisine as a way to connect through sharing food. At Roquette, every day is an opportunity to learn, grow, and embrace the diversity that makes us stronger together. Meet Marine Guy, Process Performance Engineer in Sustainable Manufacturing, at our site in Lestrem, France. She works on water withdrawal reduction and decarbonization. Her main responsibilities are to define and plan necessary projects with our sites to achieve the Roquette group's objectives, to monitor the progress of these projects and to valorize them. She especially enjoys working in a team with different functions involved in the projects and the diversity of projects that differ for each factory in the group.   For our post on International Women in Engineering Day, Marine explained why she enjoys her job: “I am proud to contribute to designing a sustainable future for Roquette. Imagining and studying solutions that reduce the environmental impact of factories has been an objective since my graduate studies, and it has become very concrete. Meet Christina Li, Maintenance & Utility Manager, at our site in Lianyungang, China. She has been engaged in maintenance-related work for over 20 years, and she greatly enjoys being able to solve equipment problems, which demonstrates the value of technical work.
