📚 New overview article: What makes a building ‘smart’: technologies driving energy efficiency Smart buildings are revolutionizing energy efficiency by using advanced technologies to monitor and optimize resource use. The EU's Energy Performance of Buildings Directive aims for a zero-emission building stock by 2050, promoting smart building adoption through various initiatives. Last week, SMARTeeSTORY partners gathered for our first review meeting alongside our project officer, Juan Carlos Espada Suarez. We reflected on the first 18 months of the project, and so much has already been achieved!    Beyond the 19 deliverables, we are especially proud of the incredible progress happening at our three demo sites:    🔹Riga City Hall, Latvia  🔹Faculty of Architecture at TU Delft, Netherlands  🔹Royal Chancellery in Granada, Spain    While there is still much to be done, we are moving forward with device installations and monitoring campaigns - on the right track to transforming historic buildings into climate-neutral landmarks.    💡 Our Vision with SMARTeeSTORY  We are developing a smart, integrated building automation and control system to monitor and optimise energy performance in historic non-residential buildings.
