How do you accelerate the urgently needed #decarbonization of a hard-to-abate sector like ours? Through creative thinking and engineering brilliance. Our fantastic R&D team collaborated on the EU-funded OnlyPlastic project - together with RINA, Feralpi Group, I.BLU Srl, and Strane Innovation - and designed an entirely novel injection system. Thanks to this, #ElectricArcFurnaces can now use a new product obtained from waste plastic residues instead of highly polluting raw fossil materials.   ♻️ This is a fantastic example of #CircularEconomy: by creating a secondary reducing agent (SRA) from the residues of waste plastic treatment plants, in one fell swoop we both reduce emissions while cutting down on landfilling.     “By taking part in the OnlyPlastic project, Tenova gained significant experience and knowledge in using alternative carbon carriers in #EAFs. It was a great opportunity to develop innovative injectors.
