Taking a trip down memory lane and revisiting some resources today, 'Empowering Research Organisations with Citizen Science: Good practices, funding success and beyond' 🙌 It's amazing how timeless knowledge can be! This event was dedicated to exploring how research organisations can seamlessly integrate #CitizenScience into all their R&D projects, even those initially unrelated to CS, and how this integration can significantly increase success in securing funding opportunities. At the heart of the event was the launch of the 'TIME4CS Statement'. This invaluable resource offers a comprehensive set of practical recommendations, carefully tailored for research institutions and the individuals within them who wish to initiate or expand their involvement with Citizen Science. 🔗 Video link: https://lnkd.in/evXyr-MN

Participation in #CitizenScience projects has been shown to facilitate greater societal acceptance of innovations and new technologies, a significant benefit considering the complex global challenges we are currently facing 👩🏫 👨🏫 Successful implementation of citizen science requires institutions to change and adapt structures and procedures. The TIME4CS Project has developed a number of resources to encourage the implementation of citizen science, read about them here: https://lnkd.in/gg2Mz63c

It is essential to incorporate the viewpoints of young people to enhance the policy-making process for youth social inclusion. Young people see the achievement of youth social inclusion as an ongoing, dynamic process where they aspire to be active contributors rather than passive recipients, who are ‘socially included’. #Time4CitizenSocialScience Cluster advocates the recognition, facilitation, and promotion of Citizen Science as a research methodology. Research funders should therefore create or expand funding instruments for Citizen Science, adapting to the specific needs and timelines of projects; this includes recognizing startup costs of CS, rewarding participatory methods, and providing long-term funding.
