On Friday, September 20, Zobele Italia colleagues who have joined the “PIGIAMA RUN” initiative of LILT, Lega Italiana per la Lotta contro i Tumori, gathered to walk together with more than 24,000 people distributed in 40 Italian cities. This non-competitive run is an annual event with a charitable purpose: funds raised from registrations and sponsorships go to support children with cancer. Twenty-five of us participated by contributing with their own fees, complied with the dress code by wearing pajamas or nightgowns, and walked to support the cause! As Company, we donated to LILT the equal value to the subscriptions by supplementing it, in agreement with the union representatives, with an amount taken from the Solidarity Fund of the plant. On Wednesday, September 18, Zobele Italia joined the “At work by bicycle!” initiative proposed by the City of Trento on the occasion of the European Mobility Week, taking place from September 16 to 22, 2024. Confirming our commitment towards a more sustainable and healthier lifestyle, and alternative mobility that is crucial for the environment, we invited our employees to ride their bikes to work. From the smiles, it seems the initiative was liked! Bravo to all and thank you!

For you a first taste of what was the “The Power of Language” meeting organized by thrive Community and supported by our Company. Smart people, with a fresh and informal style, all gathered with the goal of promoting and nurturing an inclusive culture against all forms of discrimination, stereotyping or prejudice, starting - why not - with language! Inspire, Enable, Connect.

The first Chapter of the Plant Sustainability Hackathon, the brand-new format of home care sustainability kaizen event, took place at our Italian site in Trento.  Gianni C. - Water Team Leader, Maurizio Segalla - Waste Team Leader, and Francesco Bortolotti - Energy Team Leader led the key focus areas selected for this hackathon. More than 30 ideas were generated with valuable resource-saving prospects. Gabriele Penasa, Pietro Franzoi and Oscar de Carli were awarded for their impactful ideas while Alice Figliolini, Roberto Angeli and Luca Gasperi received a special mention. Participants were awarded directly by our special guest speakers, Chiara Fedrigotti, MUSE - Museo delle Scienze; Martino Orler , Cooperativa Sociale ALPI & RE.DO Upcycling, Filippo Murari and Giulio Villa for CO2NO, bringing their contribution to inspire our teams with sustainability relevant topics, as biodiversity conservation, upcycling social impact, and circular projects supporting local communities. Thank you to everyone who made this event a success and thank you once again to those who are taking care to continue to cultivate these planted seeds on a daily basis.

Almost one year after the first big event organized by the thrive Community, “the Thrive Festival”, we are glad to announce and share the upcoming initiative we are supporting for nurturing our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) action plan together with this smart organization.   Next September 4, we’ll be on stage with Thrive for “The Power of Language” DEI event.   People living in the Trento area will be able to attend this event in person, but we’re excited to share with you all the opportunity to connect remotely and join the event live! The entire discussion will be held in English. Our site in Garland (Texas) recently wrapped up a successful Kaizen Week event, divided into two phases: Phase 1 from July 8th to 12th and Phase 2 from August 5th to 9th, 2024. During these weeks, cross-functional teams engaged in seven key Kaizen initiatives, focusing on enhancing process efficiency and productivity. Their collaborative efforts have resulted in significant advancements and exceptional outcomes across various aspects of our operations. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the entire local team for their exceptional organization and warm hospitality throughout the event. Thank you all for your commitment and enthusiasm. We look forward to achieving even more together!

On July 16th and 17th, 2024, Zobele México hosted "Suppliers Zummit 2.0" in Hermosillo, uniting colleagues from Mexico, Italy, China, and Canada, alongside valued business partners. The event ignited over 120 innovative ideas focused on fostering innovation, safety, and readiness to overcome new challenges. The Zobele Mexico Team is immensely proud of the exceptional team gathered and the outstanding results accomplished during this event. A sincere thank you is extended to all participants for their invaluable contributions and unwavering dedication to excellence.

To confirm and extend our commitment towards UNGC and its network, our colleagues Francisco and Roberto from Zobele Mexico (Hermosillo) attended the Business Meeting for Sustainability held in Mexico City. This United Nations Global Compact- Network Mexico appointment had been a valuable opportunity to generate alliances, learn about new ideas and expand our role in the field of Sustainability. Through keynote speeches and panel discussions, our colleagues had the chance to have a unique vision on how to implement the tools offered by being part of the world's largest sustainability network. Sustainability, Gender Equality, Ethics and Human Rights, Environment, Carbon Footprint, Living Wage and Sustainable Financial practices were the main topics of the two-day event.

With the goal of supporting and empowering the local community, each year Zobele India undertakes initiatives for health, education, clean water, sanitation, and the environment. This year, a fully equipped computer lab was donated to the Local Community Run School for underprivileged children. This initiative will bridge the digital divide and give students the opportunity to develop the skills they need to thrive in today's world. The computer lab will be a valuable resource for the school because it will provide an environment where students can also engage in interactive learning experiences that will enhance their digital skills. This is a great initiative that represents and confirms our company's commitment to creating collaborative opportunities with the communities in which we operate.
