Field Service Engineer

For our client, a high tech company operating in the glass industry and providing process automation solutions through machine learning and artificial intelligence, is currently looking for a Field Service Engineer.

Posizione:

The Field Service Engineer, with experience in the industrial manufacturing field managing complex automated systems:

• Is the link between the plant operators that Al-based software solution and the internal R&D team, providing feedback, suggesting features and improvements, managing and reporting issues.
• Is the technical 1 st-level assistance to the customers worldwide;
• Set-up and start-up of on-premises software automation solutions: rack server and IT devices, network and software configuration, first in-plant validation, plant operators training;
• sunning in-plant validation tests of the software process control systems, supporting the R&D team also in designing experiments and evaluating results;
• Staying updated with the products and features that are constantly released, helping the R&D team to conduct in-plant tests and validations.
  
  

Requisiti:

• At least 2-years' experience on field support of electronics devices in a industrial manufacturing environment (glass, ceramic, plastic, food, etc.);
• Verbal English level enough to interact with mother tongue and non-mother tongue people all around the world, by phone and in person;
• Basic knowledge of automation systems and technologies like PLEB and SCADA;
• Knowledge and practical expertise on Windows and/or Linux PC set-up, installation, and maintenance;
• Basic knowledge of networking best practices and configuration (IP addresses,. ports,. cable routing, ...), enough to interact with internal and external IT departments;
• Basic knowledge of low-voltage electronics best practices on signals, connectors, and device handling;
• Expertise using videoconference and communication platforms, VPNs, remote assistance tools;
• Passion about new technologies and curiosity about Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning applications.
• Availability to travel worlwide (70% of the time)
  
  

Additional Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in hollow glass manufacturing will be a huge differentiator and can balance some loss on required skill;
• Knowledge of other languages as French, Spanish, German is considered a plus;
• Knowing a programming language (Python, C#, Javascript,
• ..) or mastering scripting shells (BASH, PowerShell, ...);
• Knowing of JSON, XML, YAML files formats and common related editors.
