✨ This Diwali, Let’s Show Compassion to Our Stray Animals ✨ Diwali may be a time of joy and celebration for us, but it can be an incredibly distressing time for stray animals. Firecrackers and bright lights often lead to heightened anxiety, fear, and even physical harm for animals on the streets. Each year we see hundreds of images and videos where people (rather called as uneducated people) try to harm animals and birds by bursting crackers near them and call it “Fun”. Stupid right? But they don't do it alone; they do it in public locations where others can see it, but what others do to prevent such harm from occurring? Not much. Perhaps that's why these incidents keep repeating! As a caretaker of more than 10 dogs and cats, would really like to put some facts about our furry friends on your feed to help you understand their behaviour a little bit more: 1. Intense Sound Sensitivity 🎇 Dogs and cats have far superior hearing than humans, with dogs four times better and cats twice as good. Firecrackers, which can reach decibel levels of 140-160 dB, sound like jet engines taking off at close range to these creatures. This cacophony induces fright, and many animals become disoriented, fleeing onto busy streets or hiding in unsafe areas. 2. Effects on Mental and Physical Health 🐾 Studies show that loud sounds trigger severe anxiety and even PTSD-like symptoms in animals. Dogs, for example, show signs like shaking, loss of appetite, or excessive barking, while many stray cats may freeze or flee in panic. In severe cases, they may even suffer heart attacks due to the stress. 3. Impact on Birds and Small Animals 🐦 Birds, with their extraordinarily high metabolism, are susceptible to both noise and air pollution. During Diwali, birds frequently leave their nests and may not return, leaving them vulnerable to predators or losing their offspring. Noise-induced stress can be deadly for smaller animals such as rabbits and squirrels. L'unica macchina a vapore che abbiamo sviluppato è la moka per fare il caffè, questo dice tutto sulla nostra capacità di applicare la tecnologia per sfruttare la nostra risorsa migliore: il sole, che è eterno, mentre le fonti fossili e fissili no. Dobbiamo sempre essere "svegliati" dal torpore mediterraneo dal nord Europa e dalle imposizioni che arrivano da culture che hanno meno sole e lo sfruttano meglio di noi. Mettiamo a terra quello che ora abbiamo a disposizione a livello di conoscenze tecnologiche, dove sono gli attributi per lo sviluppo delle risorse delle tecnologie sulle rinnovabili made in Italy, finanziate concretamente dal nostro stato, per l’energia fornita da sempre dal sole. Se abbiamo una vera possibilità di emergere economicamente e tecnologicamente, è nel sole; il resto sono solo dipendenze socio-economiche dalle fonti fossili e fissili.

ParleG, through their Advertisement, has taken us back down our memory lane on how we all used to prepare for Diwali and celebrate together as Family. Traditionally, families would prepare for Diwali by collectively cleaning the house, decorating with diyas and rangoli, making sweets together, shopping for new clothes, and most importantly, participating in the Lakshmi Puja as a united unit, sharing the festive spirit and creating strong bonds through these shared activities.  Key aspects of family Diwali preparations:  1.      Decorating the home: Everyone would contribute to decorating the house with diyas (clay lamps), colorful rangoli patterns on the floor, flower garlands, and festive lights.  2.      Making sweets: The whole family would get involved in preparing traditional sweets like laddoos, gulab jamun, and soan papdi, often passing down recipes through generations.  3.      Shopping for new clothes: Buying new clothes for the entire family was a significant part of Diwali preparations, signifying a fresh start.  4.      Lakshmi Puja: Performing the Lakshmi Puja, a prayer to the Goddess of wealth, together as a family was a central part of the celebration, with everyone participating in the rituals.  5.      Sharing meals: Family members would gather to enjoy a large festive meal together, often featuring special dishes and sweets.  6.      Intergenerational bonding: Grandparents would share stories and traditions with younger generations, creating a strong sense of family connection.
