Over the past year, we have carried on integrating #sustainability into our business strategies. This commitment has led to excellent results in relation to the main #ESG evaluation parameters, some of which I would like to mention.   We have completed the creation of the GHG emissions inventory according to the ISO 14064-1 standard throughout the Group, thereby creating a valuable store of information on our organization and our value chain, enabling us to implement even more targeted actions to reduce our carbon footprint. We have also achieved 100% use of #renewableenergy on all our sites in Italy. This, combined with other measures, has led to a reduction in our total emissions of more than 600 tons of CO2.   Over 2023 we focused increasingly not only on inclusiveness and diversity, but also on the growth, well-being and safety of our employees. We have seen an increase in the percentage of women in our workforce (46%) and have almost doubled the hours of per-capita training provided (39 hours in the year just ended).   We know that there is still a long way to go, but we are convinced that the strategy in place and our clarity of vision are solid foundations on which to continue building our #Elica as leader of change and promoter of sustainable initiatives in line with our stakeholders’ expectations.   To learn more about our goals and projects, take a look at our 2023 Sustainability Report!

Non viviamo alla giornata, ma con progetti ben precisi. What a rollercoaster the last three days have been! It was an incredible privilege to be part of the team (EcoMorphosys) responsible for making Bengaluru Tech Summit 2024 sustainable. This year, under the Green BTS initiative, we made history by showcasing India’s first sustainable and responsible tech summit of this scale. Together, we set new benchmarks in eco-conscious practices: ✅ “Zero Waste to Landfill”: Achieved by recycling 98% of waste through 100% source segregation. ✅ Free EV Bus Shuttle Services: 24% of visitors utilized BMTC’s EV services, reducing carbon emissions by 9%. ✅ Carbon Footprint Reduction: Achieved an overall 10% year-on-year reduction! ✅ Sustainability Champions: Among 686 exhibitors embracing sustainability, three exemplary stalls were honored with the ‘Sustainability Stall Award’. One of the highlights I’m particularly proud of is the Live Dashboard that we developed, which provided real-time insights into the event’s environmental impact. Along with thought-provoking videos and biodiversity demonstrations, it was instrumental in raising environmental awareness and connecting the event’s initiatives to eight Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). #BTS2024 #GreenBTS #Sustainability

Advertising recycled products as sustainable has (rightly) come under fire because in many (most?) cases they are simply not sustainable enough. Reuse, in the form of second-hand product markets, is often promoted as the better or preferred option. But does reuse solve the problem? Both recycled and second-hand products do nothing to address the main driver of environmental impacts: overconsumption. Buying recycled and second-hand products without reducing the amounts of products you are buying (or even increasing them) will cancel any environmental benefits. Simple takeaway: - Consumers need to learn how to live good lives while buying less staff, - Companies need to learn how to maintain healthy finances while selling less, - Governments need to enable citizens and consumers alike in this new reality.
