Don’t miss “Tales & Tellers”, Miu Miu’s special project open to public from today to October 20th, at Palais d’Iéna in Paris, as part of #ArtBaselParis Public Program.
Conceived by interdisciplinary artist Goshka Macuga and convened by Elvira Dyangani Ose, “Tales & Tellers” brings together a multiverse of narratives, but also the knowledge that thrives from them. Every film commission - Miu Miu Women’s Tales short films and videos taken from the artistic interventions from runway shows since Spring/Summer 2022 - is represented by a character, directly extracted from these collaborations.
“Tales & Tellers” also includes screenings of all commissioned short films, together with a programming of conversations.

At the core of Miuccia Prada’s Miu Miu is a fascination with the lives of women: their experiences, their histories, their tales. This has always included culture, alongside fashion: in 2011, Miu Miu Women’s Tales launched, platforming female filmmakers to present their own views of the plurality of femininity. And since 2021, the biannual Miu Miu runway show has been reshaped as a forum for dialogue with artists through installations and motion image, exploring multiple ideas but always returning to an understanding of women. In “Tales & Tellers”, every film commission - Miu Miu Women’s Tales short films and videos taken from the artistic interventions from runway shows since Spring/Summer 2022 - is represented by a character, directly extracted from these collaborations.

In Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2025 show, elements are transposed and combined with a sense of impulse. Things becoming other, their displacement changing their purpose, shifting their truth.

In Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2025 fashion show, a white cotton dress is a starting point. Pieces drawn directly from wardrobe of "infancy" are prototypical items, pure in form and role. Unschooled gestures in dressing fundamentally alter classic items, as if purpose is rediscovered. Chemisette dresses in cotton are pulled down and folded around the body, their forms shifted, from utilitarian to bustier dresses with a dishonest glamour.

Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2025 collection examines early youth as a period of absolute truth. Before dissimulation is learned, each individual is honest to themselves, to their ideals. And as a reaction to an era of overstimulation and over-information, simplicity in clothing may offer clarity and precision, and serve as an honest frame of character.

Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2025 show by Miuccia Prada is a point of embarkation, for a sequence of multidisciplinary events examining the brand’s cultural dialogues with groundbreaking women artists and filmmakers across 13 years. Through the Spring/Summer 2025 collection itself, an intervention by Goshka Macuga for the Miu Miu runway show, and an installation by the same artist at the Palais d’Iéna as part of Art Basel Paris 2024 exploring Miu Miu Women’s Tales and collaborations with artists, Miu Miu investigates its own conversations across the mediums of art, cinema and fashion.
