We managed to spare a little half an hour this morning to take part in and show our support for Macmillan Cancer Support Coffee Morning and enjoy each other's time along with some good snacks and coffee. The (mostly) home baked treats went down a storm. Mark Palfrey treating everyone to Guernsey butter baked Flapjacks. Macmillan are very close to our team's heart and do amazing work on the island. Thanks to the team for the efforts that went into baking and we hope the little bit of money we raised for a great cause can help out.

Friday Learning Getting to the Sustainable Construction Summit this morning joining many of the great and the good in the Jersey Construction Sector started Friday off well, thanks to the Government of Jersey and eco active for organising it and ensuring it ran smoothly, no small feat! There were a number of talks, workshops and a Q&A to finish with the speakers and industry leaders. The 3 interactive workshop type sessions in amongst it were great for stimulating debate, and it was hugely interesting for me to hear the different experts in their fields in Jersey bringing their ideas to the table and hearing their thoughts on what the future direction of the industry. It's going to be interesting to see what happens off the back of it now and it will be no small task taking the ideas debated and implementing them at the pace Jersey needs. One of the key themes that kept coming up was the best ideas can and need to start being implemented right now.

St Peter FC - Southampton Summer Summer Camp - Sponsored by HLG As sponsors of the St Peter FC Children's summer camp we had the pleasure of attending the prize giving on Friday afternoon and sharing the fun as over 90 youngsters from age 5 to 13 all received medals for taking part in the week and a host of other prizes for everything from winning small sided skill games to those who embodied the best values of sportsmanship and kindness through the week . Southampton football club sent over their team of coaches to give all the youngsters the best quality coaching and it was great to see so many kids getting to enjoy the sunshine and have fun together. For the last 3 years HLG have loved supporting the summer camps and helping the next generation of Jersey youngsters access and enjoy the sport and quality coaching, and is one of a number of local community organisations and sports we support

A wonderful day in Guernsey with some questionable golf. We were thrilled to sponsor the Royal Guernsey Golf Club’s Club Championship on Sunday! 🏌️♂️⛳ Our very own Mark Palfrey, a proud member of Royal Guernsey, and Robin Bailey from Guernsey along with Bob and Jack from our Jersey office, had the pleasure of playing in the event. They hosted two talented architects we’ve recently been working alongside, James Gavey from JG Architecture and Jamie Le Gallez of SOUP Architects. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect, share a few ideas, and enjoy some fleeting moments of good golf on a beautiful course! Robin took shot of the day with his escape from a nasty greenside bunker (where 3 of us ended up side by side) to within a couple of feet, before knocking in the putt. At HLG Associates, we believe in supporting our community and fostering strong relationships with our partners. This event was a perfect example of our commitment to both.
