🚺 On International #DayoftheGirl, we're celebrating every girl's right to pursue her vision for a bright future. 🌟 🇳🇵 In #Nepal, many girls under age 18 like Anju face pressure to marry early, putting them at increased risk of negative health outcomes and limiting their economic opportunities. But thanks to a Breakthrough ACTION community education effort, led by CCP, Anju's parents changed their minds. Now, they encourage her to pursue her goals first before marrying. "Things have changed ... Our grandmothers, mothers and aunts who listen to these preachings now say, 'Daughters have the right to education and need to be competent.'" 🎥 Watch Anju's story to see how we're helping communities change deeply ingrained social norms to address and prevent child early and forced marriage. #CEFM | #BreakthroughACTION | #IDGC2024 | #USAID | #childmarriage USAID | Debora Freitas Lopez

🌟 This is one of the great tools featured on our new mental health technical page. Discover this and our 390+ SBC resources today! 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eq7Vmzys #WorldMentalHealthDay | USAID

🧠 Managing stress and anxiety while navigating new motherhood is difficult and can put a significant strain on women's mental health. This #WorldMentalHealthDay, we're highlighting our pilot program in 🇪🇹 #Ethiopia, Mothers' Time, which addresses these challenges using a simplified version of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). The CCP-led Breakthrough ACTION project intervention offers tools to help postpartum women cope with anxiety and depression, which could help them overcome barriers to adopting family planning. "Depression and anxiety affect so many of the behaviors and skills that are important in the process of considering family planning use and acting on one’s fertility intentions. So, might feelings of depression and anxiety be getting in the way of those decisions?" says Breakthrough ACTION’s Sarah Burgess. Read the full story and explore the tool: https://bit.ly/3U4bGUu 🔊 Available in English and Amharic. Camber Collective #WMHDay | #BreakthroughACTION | #postpartum | #mentalhealth | #CBT
