- Isla Amantani アマンタニ島 -
After a four-hour boat trip, I arrived at a place of serenity. The bright blue waters of the lake sparkled without a sound.
ボートで4時間、辿り着いた静寂。真っ青な湖水が音も無く煌めく。
Humans live also on less fertile land, with a population and lifetime that is natural to the land.

I went to the ruins on the hill to see the sunset. The lousy whistles of tip-hungry kids were the background music along the way.

The snow covered mountains were far beyond the lake and I lost track of time watching the sunset show. The path back to the inn was lit by the moon.

This is an island in the sky. TOKYO is far below the bottom of the lake.
ここは天空の島。TOKYOは湖底の遥か下。
The Taquile people live on Taquile Island. Taquile means " singing, so they are all singers on the singing island.
タキーレ島に住むのはタキーレ族。タキーレとは「歌う」という意味。歌う島の歌う人たち。
The color of the hat indicates marital status, a very functional costume in Taquile.

After crossing this vast lake and the Andean mountains beyond, the Pacific Ocean finally spreads out.
