We are proud to share our participation in the "Girls Meet STEM Career" program, organized by the Shintaro Yamada D&I Foundation. This initiative is designed to inspire and empower female junior high and high school students by providing them with hands-on experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics fields. Japan currently has one of the lowest rates of women pursuing STEM degrees, with only 19% of female students entering university in these fields. By engaging with young women early in their academic journeys, we hope to contribute to a shift in these statistics, encouraging more women to see STEM as a viable, rewarding, and exciting career path. Our participation in Girls Meet STEM Career aligns with our commitment to nurturing the next generation. ITO EN Corporation has chosen Asahi Kasei to supply resin plates for aqueous (water-based) flexographic printing for the packaging of its “Healthy Mineral Mugi-Tea" tea bags. Committed to "contributing to life and living," we are proud to introduce our innovative water-based flexographic resin plate, AWP™ to ITO EN's unique products. AWP produces approximately 14% fewer CO2 emissions than oil-based gravure printing and dry laminating methods. It also reduces environmental impact by eliminating the use of solvents in the printing process. This collaboration highlights our commitment to sustainability and innovation in the packaging industry. We look forward to continuing our work with ITO EN and contributing to a more sustainable future. Due to climate change, the water temperature of the Rhine harbor basins rises dramatically in the summer months and regularly causes the growth of toxic cyanobacteria. To address this issue, Asahi Kasei Europe has announced a pioneering environmental partnership with Marina Düsseldorf. The joint project "Rescue the Rhine" aims to sustainably increase the climate resilience of the Düsseldorf yacht harbor and turn it into a largely natural, green oasis. This is achieved by installing plant islands equipped with water-purifying plants to filter out phosphates, nitrates and other environmental toxins that promote blue-green algae from the water in order to effectively reduce the concentration of cyanobacteria. To keep the water around the modular gardens moving and thus counteract the development of cyanobacteria, every plant island installed in the Düsseldorf marina has an underwater aerator. The oxygen promotes plant growth and at the same time provides fish with vital oxygen in the poorly circulating harbor basin water during periods of extreme heat. At Asahi Kasei Europe, we are excited to partake in a project that has a positive impact on our community and benefits not just our team, but all those who enjoy the local harbor basins. #CommunityEffort #AsahiKaseiEurope

Our latest global Automotive Consumer Survey, now in its fifth year, offers profound insights into brand loyalty and buying behaviors across major automotive markets like Germany, the United States, China, and Japan. For our 2023 survey, there were a total of 4,158 participants with interviews conducted online. The results underscore a shifting landscape marked by intensified competition, emerging manufacturers, and evolving customer preferences, all contributing to wavering brand loyalty worldwide. More than half of the respondents in Germany and the USA plan to change the brand of their next car, while customers in China are remarkably open to switching car brands, with 79% indicating they would choose a model from a different manufacturer. This is just a preview of the many insights offered in this year's results.
