When it comes to space-based capabilities, how does the U.S. stack up against global adversaries? In a Zero Gravity Summit panel titled “The Space Race: Winning Up There,” Astroscale U.S. President Ron Lopez joined leaders from the aerospace, government and commercial sectors to discuss the ways industry can promote American leadership and support national security in space. In the GEO world, large software defined digital satellites seem to have been establishing its base, but large, long-life satellites are not always the customers’ choices. Small GEO satellite suppliers seem to be creating their room to be. Highlighting the theme of “Innovation in the Face of Uncertainty,” Ron outlined the way Astroscale U.S. works to: 🗺️ Navigate geopolitical risks as a U.S. company  🤖 The role of AI in innovation  🛰️ The importance of scalable and economically viable sustainability solutions in aerospace.

We recently held a workshop focused on machine learning and spacecraft simulators and it was a huge success! 🤖🧠 The five day workshop brought together engineers from across the globe to tackle big topics like building a path toward common GNC and astrodynaic simulation, as well as machine learning pipelines for computer vision. Looking forward to building on these strong foundations for the future of on-orbit servicing technologes! A big thank you to Satellite Applications Catapult for hosting us!
