We had the honor of hosting our second Global Health Learning Session of the year at our Japan office with Dr. Osamu Kunii, CEO of the Global Health Innovative Technology GHIT Fund and Shingo Iino, Ph.D., Head of Sustainability at Astellas Pharma Inc. We closely collaborate with both Global Health Innovative Technology (GHIT) Fund and Astellas Pharma in the context of the Pediatric Praziquantel Consortium for a new pediatric treatment option for #schistosomiasis in preschoolers. Using this program as a case study, the importance of public-private partnerships to address global health challenges was in the focus of the session. Our employees enjoyed this informative session, and felt particularly proud of our company’s unwavering commitment and efforts for sustainability and health equity. One of our ambitions is to serve more than 170 million patients per year in low- and middle-income countries by 2030. [📣 Announcement of a New Selection Committee Member ]   GHIT Fund today announced the appointment of Dr. Philip Jordan as a new member of the institution’s Selection Committee (SC), which evaluates investment proposals and reports from development partners and makes investment recommendations to the Board of Directors.   Dr. Jordan joined the Wellcome Trust in 2016 and worked in a number of roles, the most recent of which was Partner of Innovations, to build and lead strategic R&D initiatives and to develop and commercialize healthcare technologies through investing in and managing global R&D programs with pharma, biotech, and academia.   Dr. Jordan is currently a Principal Licensing & Ventures Manager at the Oxford University Innovation.
