Tokyo, one of the world's most dynamic innovation ecosystems, served as the perfect setting for this initiative. The programme kicked off with cultural immersion, giving participants the chance to explore key landmarks in Tokyo before diving into the innovation hub of Japan.
Tokyo is a leading tech and start-up hub globally, and Japan is the 3rd largest economy in the world. With a growing start-up ecosystem and government support through a 5-year start-up plan, Tokyo and the surrounding regions, like Gunma, are becoming prime locations for innovation and entrepreneurship. The packed agenda offered an in-depth understanding of the key players driving innovation in the region, from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s 10 x 10 x 10 Innovation Vision to the start-up support at Shibuya and Gunma’s NETSUGEN space.
Participants also engaged with leading VCs, CVCs, and key institutions driving innovation, including Mitsubishi Corporation Chemicals, Honda Xcelerator Ventures, Hitachi, Panasonic, Yamaha Corporation, and many more.
The experience wrapped up with a networking event at SivanS Lab in Shibuya, where over 130 attendees, including H.E. Jean-Eric Paquet, EU Ambassador to Japan, and partners from EIT Global Outreach and EIT Manufacturing, forged meaningful connections and discussed future collaborations.
This programme is a vital step in building bridges between Europe and Japan, and we at Agriventures are excited to be part of this global innovation journey.
