We are pleased to share that we have reached an agreement with Asteroid Mining Corporation, a London-based space robotics company, for a space robotics demonstration on a future ispace mission to the lunar surface! The agreement provides a framework for collaboration that envisions a future mission in which an ispace lunar lander will deliver an AMC’s space robot, the Space Capable Asteroid Robotic – Explorer or SCAR-E, to the lunar surface as a technology demonstration for future asteroid mining efforts. In space SCAR-E can be used for resource exploration on asteroids and the Moon, capable of tackling terrain such as craters that is currently inaccessible to conventional wheeled rovers. We were honored to receive the International Astronautical Federation’s (IAF) Excellence in Industry Award for small/medium sized company, which was presented to our Founder & CEO Takeshi Hakamada at the International Astronautical Conference 2024 in Milan, Italy. The award serves as a recognition for the pioneering nature of Mission 1 as the first privately funded, commercial company to launch a lunar lander in December 2022. “All of us at ispace are honored and humbled to have been recognized by the IAF and our peers for the achievements during Mission 1. [The mission] was a fully, privately funded mission, and is not only my achievement but an achievement of my team. It is a very diverse, international team, which represents the openness to the space. I believe the commercial, private sector is opening a new industry and offering new opportunities to others. Lunar landing is just beginning," said Takeshi Hakamada, Founder & CEO of ispace Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gvruTjVp #ispace #lunarquest #IAC2024

Congratulations to the ispace-U.S. crew on the opening of the Summit Mission Control Center! Summit MCC was built on a foundation of lessons learned from ispace’s Mission 1 operations and Mission 2 preparation. The ispace-U.S. Mission Operations Team has supported Mission 1 and is supporting Mission 2 led by ispace inc. Through that collaboration, many lessons learned were applied to this MCC design, operational execution, and training. #ispace #ispaceUS #APEX #lunarquest
We are thrilled to announce that Summit Mission Control Center is now open at ispace-U.S.'s headquarters office in Denver, Colorado! The mission control center serves as the ground segment hub for command and telemetry review of spacecraft and customer payloads for ispace’s Mission 3 and all future ispace-U.S. missions.
