📌 JICA Staff Blog JICA has developed new sectoral cooperation policy, “JICA Global Agenda: Sustainable Water Resources Management and Water Supply”. Under the policy, we are promoting the approach to resolve water-related issues in the field through integrated water resources management. Within this approach, one of the most important axes is consensus building among various stakeholders involved in management and use of water resources in order to solve water resource issues in developing countries. 📍【Samoa】 The Samoa JICA Alumni Association Inc. (SJAA) demonstrated its commitment to community development with a successful clean-up activity at the Home of the Elderly, Mapuifagalele, on October 5. The activity saw participation from alumni members, their families, and JICA Samoa Office staff, all working together to support the elderly community. The clean-up not only fosters community spirit but also improves living conditions for residents at Mapuifagalele. A clean and organized environment is crucial for seniors, as it reduces hazards and enhances safety, making daily activities easier and more enjoyable. Following the clean-up, the SJAA Executive Committee presented cleaning tools valued at $2,000 to ensure a lasting positive impact on the facility. The management at Mapuifagalele expressed deep gratitude to the SJAA and particularly acknowledged JICA Resident Representative Ms. Asakuma Yumiko for her presence. 【Palaw】🎉𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐲 🎉 JICA had a booth at the event on September 29, which was a event during the Independence Day celebrations hosted by the Palau government. It was a good time to share the spirit of Aikido, Japanese hand games, and "Saipan," a traditional game that has been played in Palau for a long time. Aikido lessons were taught by a male #JICAvolunteer. We would like to continue to be with the people of Palau by utilizing the good qualities of Japan ✨
