Good news for union 401(k) plans: Thanks to Milliman’s work with industry experts, the IRS has proposed regulations to protect multiemployer plans from unintended SECURE 2.0 challenges. These proposed IRS regulations clarify that auto-enrollment provisions will not apply to pre-existing multiemployer 401(k) plans. After four months of improvement, the funded ratio of the #Milliman PFI plans dropped from 106.0% to 104.8% as of February 28.
