Visitors to Sendai may have noticed this memorable character around town, but who is he? With a rice ball head topped with a helmet reminiscent of the one worn by city founder and feudal lord Date Masamune during the samurai era, it’s none other than Miyagi Prefecture’s lovable mascot, Musubimaru! Musubimaru’s hobbies include napping and visiting hot springs, and his favorite food is seafood caught off the coast of Sanriku, especially saury—best enjoyed with wakame seaweed miso soup! When he’s not traveling around to promote tourism in Miyagi Prefecture, you might find Musubimaru welcoming participants at your next MICE event, whether at the venue, the airport, or Sendai Station. In addition to Musubimaru, other “yuru-chara” character mascots, such as those representing Sendai’s professional sports teams, can also be arranged as part of attraction menu services (conditions and charges may apply). For more information, please contact our convention bureau. https://lnkd.in/g3a7hNEy Musubimaru novelty goods can be purchased at major tourist locations throughout Miyagi Prefecture. #Musubimaru #MiyagiMascot #SendaiCity #DateMasamune #YuruChara #SamuraiSpirit #MiyagiTourism #SendaiStation #SanrikuSeafood #MICEJapan #VisitSendai #MiyagiPrefecture #SendaiConventionBureau #MICE #EventPlanning #EventProfs #ConventionSupport

Kimono are quintessentially Japanese, making the experience of wearing this traditional clothing a must for many visitors to Japan. It is not disrespectful to wear kimono; in fact, most Japanese people are delighted to see visitors embracing their culture! The Sendai Convention Bureau can introduce operators offering kimono and yukata (light summer kimono) rental services to enhance your event experience. Participants can enjoy a unique cultural immersion with options for traditional kimono dressing or the modern "one-touch" kimono wearing for larger groups. Organizers can choose between an authentic dressing experience for a select few participants or a streamlined process that accommodates many participants. These rentals can also be combined with activities like tea ceremonies or photo sessions, providing a memorable and engaging addition to any convention. #CityOfTrees #Sendai #MICE #MeetingPlanners #MeetingProfs #MeetingsAndEvents #EventProfs #Japan #SendaiConventionBureau #kimono #yukata

Announcement: "Park MICE" - A Business Event Mechanism Utilizing Local Assets and Community Participation for Regional Revitalization First Held in Sendai! Japan Convention Services, Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President: Hirotake Chikanami, hereinafter referred to as JCS) has been commissioned to manage the 32nd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Breast Cancer Society, which will be held in Sendai City from Thursday, July 11 to Saturday, July 13. During this meeting, JCS will implement its new service, "Park MICE," for the first time. On Saturday, July 13, at the grassy area of Aobayama Park and Sendai Ryokusaikan Visitor Center (address: Aoba-ku, Kawauchi Oimawashi Mubanchi, Sendai City) near Sendai International Center, a lighting event featuring motifs such as the Pink Ribbon and Date Masamune will be held. Additionally, during the conference, six different activities will take place, including Japanese paper art using recycled Tanabata streamers from the Sendai Tanabata Festival and a sake tasting booth hosted by local citizen volunteers representing sake breweries in the prefecture. "Park MICE" is an initiative to hold MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions/Events) in everyday locations such as parks and squares, together with the local community. By making MICE more accessible to local residents, it fosters civic pride, and MICE participants can deepen their understanding and appreciation of the host area through interaction with the community. This initiative aims to cultivate affection for the host location among both locals and MICE participants, encouraging them to continue living there or wanting to visit again, thus contributing to long-term regional revitalization.
