#Terumo ’s global production system and supply chains Under the 5-Year Growth Strategy “GS26”, Terumo is working to build a reliable and robust production system by clarifying the division of functions and target markets for supply on an individual factory basis according to the characteristics and products of each in-house company. We're advancing a strong and stable production and supply system by synergizing with our 30 global production sites, utilizing their unique strengths and expertise, and allocating production based on product characteristics. Terumo is dedicated to evolving our production and supply system to cater to the diverse needs of patients across the globe.

We are thrilled to announce that #Terumo Medical Pranex has now hosted over 200,000 visitors since its opening in 2002. We extend our deepest gratitude to all those who have visited and supported us. On the day of the milestone, our Chief Executive Officer, Hikaru Samejima welcomed the 200,000th visitor.   Terumo Medical Pranex commenced as a training center dedicated to the proper use of medical devices, offering a diverse range of programs tailored to the needs and challenges of the medical settings. It has since evolved to offer an extensive array of programs that address the demands and challenges of the medical settings. These include specialized training for physicians and comprehensive simulations for interdisciplinary medical teams, utilizing facilities that mirror actual medical settings such as catheterization laboratories and intensive care units.   In addition, there are area that chronicle Terumo's journey alongside medical progress, exhibit our wide-ranging technological innovations, and present business solutions that meet to our customers' needs.   We have had the honor of hosting medical professionals and various stakeholders from around the world. We aim to have visitors gain an in-depth understanding of Terumo through their experiences at Terumo Medical Pranex. As a facility that provides training to medical professionals both domestically and globally, we have been able to tangibly contribute to societal well-being.   Moving forward, we are committed to furthering our initiatives that enhance the quality of healthcare. Today, on July 3rd, new banknotes will be issued in Japan. The chosen portrait for the new 1,000 yen note is Dr. Shibasaburo Kitasato, one of the founders of Terumo. 1921,as thermometer imports to Japan stopped due to war, Terumo was founded by a group of physicians and scientists, including Dr. Shibasaburo Kitasato, to meet the desperate need for production of quality thermometers in Japan. Since its establishment, Terumo has been pioneering the development of various medical devices in Japan, supporting the foundation of healthcare in the country. We have developed numerous ""first in Japan"" and ""world's first"" devices, expanding our contributions to healthcare from Japan to the world.  We will continue to work together as one Terumo Group and strive to be a valuable company for patients, medical professionals, and society at large. Our regional sales revenue is led by the Americas at 36%, Japan at 23%, followed by Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at 21%, China at 9%, and Asia and Others at 12%. Our consolidated sales revenue stands at approximately 921.1 billion yen, with international sales accounting for 77% of the total, showcasing our global product deployment. Today, #Terumo's 109th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders was held at the Meiji Kinenkan in Tokyo, attracting a significant number of shareholders. MicroVention-Terumo was fortunate to host our Terumo CEO Hikaru Samejima & Katsuyuki Honda, President and CEO, Terumo Americas Holding Regional Representative, Americas, at our Aliso Viejo, California headquarters this week. Samejima-san toured the manufacturing and R&D operations, met with countless Associates, and hosted a Town Hall in our new building. Our future is bright at Terumo and MicroVention!

Japan’s redesigned bank notes will be issued on July 3, 2024. Dr. Shibasaburo Kitasato, one of the founders of Terumo Corporation, has been chosen as the portrait of the new 1,000 yen note. He is a renowned medical scientist known as the "Father of Modern Medicine in Japan" for his achievements. He successfully cultivated the tetanus bacterium for the first time in the world in 1889 and discovered the tetanus antitoxin the following year. Terumo was founded in 1921 by a group of physicians and scientists, including Dr. Shibasaburo Kitasato, to meet the desperate need for production of quality thermometers in Japan. These words appeared in the founding prospectus: ❝As the health of the people of Japan depends on the spread of hygiene awareness, and as the health of the people is the key to national stability, this can be called an industry of national concern❞ The founder’s mindset lives on in the Terumo Group Mission: Contributing to Society through Healthcare. June 5th is #WorldEnvironmentDay🌲 Terumo understands that our lives and health and even the practice of medicine itself depend on the existence of diverse living organisms and ecosystems. We believe that reducing the environmental impact of business activities is our social responsibility as a company and is crucial to sustainable growth. The entire Terumo Group is committed to reducing environmental impact. - Reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emissions Terumo aims to achieve carbon neutrality by fiscal 2040. One part of this effort is the introduction of solar panels at the factory of Terumo Vietnam Co., Ltd. This is expected to cover 14% of the electricity consumption of the entire factory, which will be replaced by renewable energy. This will result in a reduction of CO2 emissions of approximately 2,700 tons per year. - Mt. Fuji Reforestation Project Terumo conducts its business using groundwater from Mt. Fuji's foothills for use in the production of medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and other products. In fiscal 2003, we launched the Terumo Mt. Fuji Reforestation Project at the Terumo Megumi-no-Mori in the Fumoto district of Fujinomiya. This project involves the reforestation of parts of Mt. Fuji’s forests where many trees have been destroyed by typhoons. Repopulating these areas with native tree species will help them become more resistant to future natural disasters and ensure that they can continue to serve as a source of groundwater.
