JR Kyushu, we, UPDATER and GPSS have decided to use the off-site corporate PPA for the first time in JR Kyushu to jointly supply electricity derived from 100% renewable energy to 18 station buildings and other facilities, including Shinkansen stations such as conventional Nagasaki Station and Shin-Yashiro Station. https://lnkd.in/dMqKHYmx

We, UPDATER, an operator of the renewable energy platform Minna Denryoku (i.e. Everyone's Power), are pleased to announce that the amount of electricity sold in the previous year was approximately 546.35 million kWh, making us a specified energy supplier as stipulated by the Act on the Upgrading of the Energy Supply Structure. As a result of becoming a target business operator under the Act, UPDATER has been included in the evaluation and publication of the status of achievement of the target business operator's non-fossil power source ratio target published by the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy since 7 October 2024. Having become a Specified Energy Supplier, UPDATER is once again acutely aware of its responsibilities as a retail electricity supplier and will continue to work to change consumption to mitigate climate change. The law requires specified energy suppliers to increase the proportion of non-fossil energy to 44% or more by FY2030. Our Minna Denryoku has already achieved 100% non-fossil energy and is making a significant contribution to the objectives of the Act. In 2018, we also commercialised for the first time in person electricity tracking, which can identify the producer and location of electricity using our proprietary blockchain technology, and we are working to supply high value-added renewable energy that contributes to the local environment and economy. https://lnkd.in/gA3S55Pi

We, UPDATER, are organising "Shimokita de Shimokita Peninsula Fest 2024" at Bonus Track in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo, on 16 (Sat) and 17 (Sun) November 2024, in collaboration with the village of Sai in the Shimokita Peninsula, Aomori. This event is a festival that allows visitors to experience the attractions of the village of Sai, located on the Shimokita Peninsula in Aomori Prefecture, through all five senses, offering content that allows them to experience the local products, culture and decarbonisation initiatives of Sai village. The festival will use blockchain technology from Minna Denryoku(i.e Everyone's Power) to utilise electricity derived from renewable energy sources generated in the Shimokita Peninsula. UPDATER accepted Fathiha, a JICA student from Tanzania, for an internship for about two weeks from 4 September. The company started a demonstration project in Tanzania last year and is looking to further global expansion in the future.
