We had an amazing experience at Toyota’s Global Hackathon: SWARM2024! Two teams from Woven by Toyota (US and JP) were selected for the final round in the Generative AI division, where we presented cutting-edge ideas for the future of mobility. This hackathon provided a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with engineers from TMC group companies worldwide. Together, we sharpened our skills and explored AI-driven solutions that could shape the transportation landscape of tomorrow. Interested in joining us? Joining hands with the Community! Our team had the honor of participating in the 4th Fukutoku Shrine Festival, collaborating with local residents and companies to carry the mikoshi (portable shrine) around our office and the surrounding area. Carrying the shrine is a symbol of unity and shared responsibility, believed to bring good luck to the community. This experience allowed us to feel the strength of people coming together from different walks of life while celebrating a cherished tradition. As a company rooted partly in Japan, partly in the US and UK, we are deeply grateful for our connections with the local community and for contributing to its growth. Become a part of our team and join us in the next mikoshi carry! https://lnkd.in/gdD8h6K6 #WovenbyToyota

Congratulations to the team! 🎉 Your hard work and dedication to advancing safety are truly commendable. This paper is an invaluable contribution to our mission.
Curious about estimating severity for hazardous scenarios? Good news: The SAE Journal of Connected and Automated Vehicles has accepted a paper by Igor Mozolin, Divya G., and me. You can find it on the SAE website: https://lnkd.in/geXJrg2i. TL;DR: Boosting algorithms outperform other ML algorithms in severity classification using the CRSS database. XGBoost performs slightly better than other packages and requires minimal data preprocessing. However, due to the heavy imbalance in CRSS, some preprocessing is still necessary for meaningful results. Potential applications: to use the model as a part of the hazardous scenarios search engine. Enjoy, and feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.

SWITCHING PLACES 🔁 Last week, the path between our TCEU office and Woven by Toyota’s office was well-traveled (Farringdon to Shoreditch - basically a scenic stroll!) As part of our commitment to strengthening collaboration across the TOYOTA Group, Dave Barrett & Michal Brud from our People & Culture Team visited Woven by Toyota to explore potential partnerships and exchange insights. Later in the day, Woven's Product Team joined us at TCEU to discuss shared business objectives and tackle key challenges. It was a highly productive day full of meaningful conversations, and we're excited for what’s next! ✨ #OneToyota #MobilityForAll #ToyotaConnectedEurope #WovenbyTOYOTA
