David Fischer At this point, I could hardly be more enthusiastic about Kavrila. The Rituals trilogy is a tremendous accomplishment, and I feel like II is a bit of an outlier stylistically. Starting right at Lidless, this record is more atmospheric and - surprise! - even reluctant until suddenly punching you in the gut and forcefully eviscerating your abdominal cavity with a halfheartedly grinded butter knife. Punishing, engaging and definitely worth hearing. Stop pondering and throw your money at these guys. Favorite track: Expulsion.

Tarmac Bitch Massive. Not a single thing to dislike about this album. Would love to see these guys live, you can feel the passion in their music. <3 Favorite track: Expulsion.

I love Mantar. Theirs is one of the most impressive live performances I have ever seen: primitive, sweaty and more energetic than most coal power stations. Having such a beloved artist release a new album is always a bit scary, especially after three very strong offerings in a row. Still, Mantar remain untouchable and return with their most accessible (read: 'still kicking you in the balls until your teeth pop out') release so far. Odysseus might be their best song yet.
