    Vacuum Cleaner Robots Hacked: Reports of Insults, Surveillance, and Chasing Pets Recent reports have uncovered alarming incidents involving hacked Ecovacs robot vacuum cleaners, specifically the Deebot X2 model. The following are key findings from these unsettling events: 1. Insults and Racist Abuse One of the more shocking occurrences was reported by Daniel Swenson, a lawyer from Minnesota, who heard a voice—apparently that of a teenager—shouting racial slurs and obscenities from his vacuum cleaner. Similar cases were noted in El Paso and Los Angeles, where the hacked devices also spewed racist abuse. 2. Surveillance Hackers have successfully gained access to the live camera feeds of these vacuum cleaners, enabling them to spy on the owners’ homes. This breach of privacy raises concerns about the potential capture of sensitive or private moments. 3. Chasing Pets In a bizarre twist, one hacked Deebot X2 Omni in Los Angeles was reported to have chased a dog around its owner’s home. This unusual behavior highlights the degree of control hackers have managed to seize over the devices. 4.
