💡CREATS FARMER SPOTLIGHT💡 Chrisphine is a farmer whose resilience defies expectations. Despite facing the daily challenges of disability, he has cultivated a life of dignity and purpose through farming, using it as a means to support his family over the years. This season, we provided Chrisphine with maize seeds and fertilizers to enhance his farming output. In a follow-up visit, our community engagement officer, Leonard Oluoch, assessed the progress of his farm and offered any necessary support. Leonard also brought Chrisphine a herbicide to help control the weeds that had begun to compete with the maize. This was a moving experience--despite challenges life has thrown at Chrisphine, he continues to work hard. Next year, he hopes to diversify by planting watermelons and beans. #sustainableagriculture #ruralliving #nonprofit #motivation #wemakeithappen

💡CREATS FARMER SPOTLIGHT💡 Coleta is one of our most dedicated farmers. Her crops are thriving thanks to her hard work and her use of best farming practices; for example, she has raised beds to manage water distribution and soil erosion. Coleta has managed her farm almost single-handedly, a responsibility taken on by many women in agriculture. Despite this pressure, as well as inconsistent rainfall due to unpredictable seasons, Coleta's perseverance and skill help her garden, her family, and her community thrive. You can support Coleta and farmers like her by donating to our campaign, #SowSeedsOfHope, at https://lnkd.in/gpEjX3hY or by texting CREATS to 53555. Our sincere thanks to those who have donated so far. We couldn't do it without you. #sustainableagriculture #nonprofit #gardening #sustainablefarming

Thank you Katre Olmez and Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens for the opportunity to meet and discuss a potential partnership. We look forward to moving the conversation forward and collaborating in fostering resilient global citizens!
Being in New York during #UNGA, #NewYorkClimateWeek with Monika Froehler & Katharina Choe, hosting our board meeting and to support co-chair Ban Ki-moon in his many engagements throughout the week was one to remember! Taking part in my first "in-person" Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens board meeting and having one on one moments with dear board members Andrea Pfanzelter, Márcia Balisciano, Kate Landon, CAP® Jean Todt (bonding over F1) and more.. Meeting with inspiring BKMC network members Ban Ki-moon Foundation, Global Citizen, Varkey Foundation, Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty Initiative, Creats International, KIDsforSDGs, Foundations Platform F20, and more Listening to the The Rockefeller Foundation family on stage at the Society of Entrepreneurs and Ecology (SEE) Foudation... Last but not least witnessing Ban Ki-moon's impact first hand in taking action to create a better world. Having those mini conversations with him in between moments surely is the motivation to keep striving for his legacy of #sdgs and #climate. **For my Turkish colleagues he knows how to sing "Üsküdar'a gider iken" hearing it from Turkish soldiers during the Korean War!

Meet Helen! Helen lives with her husband and grandchildren and diligently manages her farm, especially her kitchen garden, even while facing difficult health challenges. Her garden is both a source of nutrition, as her vegetables contribute to household meals, and a promise of normalcy and routine. Helen inspires by remaining resilient despite her struggles with health problems and limited support. Although Helen is surviving through her efforts, we want her, and the thousands of farmers like her, to thrive. Follow the journey of farmers like Helen as we work to support them and transform them from surviving to thriving. #creatsinternational #nonprofitorganization #sustainableagriculture #Inspiring #wemakeithappen
