About us
With a database of 300,000 farmers and 400 extension personnel DigiCow Africa offers two primary solutions to support small-scale farmers: the DigiCow Dairy App and the Ndume App. DigiCow Dairy App The DigiCow Dairy App has two main features: Extension Information: This feature provides farmers with comprehensive information to improve animal husbandry practices. It ensures that farmers have access to relevant content tailored to their specific needs at any given time and allows for easy reference at their convenience. Record Keeping: This feature allows farmers to maintain digital records of their farming activities. It provides summarized analyses and reports, enabling farmers to make informed decisions. For farmers without access to smartphones, DigiCow Africa offers a group training model. This model facilitates training sessions for groups of 5-30 members. Trainers use Bluetooth speakers for effective communication and assist farmers with registration during these sessions. Ndume App The Ndume App is designed to support veterinarians in recording data for farmers who do not have smartphones. The recorded information is sent to the farmers via SMS, and they also receive constant reminders guiding them through various stages of animal husbandry as recorded by the vet. This ensures that farmers can make informed decisions based on accurate and timely information. info@digicow.co.ke

🌾 The Growing Role of Technology in Transforming Agriculture for Small-Scale Farmers 🌾 Agriculture, one of the oldest industries in the world, is undergoing a revolution with the increasing adoption of technology. From smart farming tools to digital platforms that provide real-time data, small-scale farmers are now gaining access to innovations that were previously available only to large-scale enterprises. This shift is not only transforming farming practices but also empowering farmers to improve productivity and profitability. 🌱 Increased Reach and Improved Productivity 🌱 The impact of technology on reaching small-scale farmers is profound. Platforms that provide virtual training, mobile-based record-keeping, and real-time farm management have allowed farmers, even in the most remote areas, to gain access to expert knowledge. This helps bridge the gap between them and essential services, such as veterinary care, financial institutions, and markets for their produce. 💡 DigiCow’s Positioning in the Digital Agriculture Space 💡 At DigiCow Africa, we are proud to be part of this exciting movement. By developing digital tools tailored to the unique needs of small-scale farmers, we’re ensuring they not only survive but thrive in this new digital age. The DigiCow Dairy App and Ndume App provide farmers with essential record-keeping tools, training modules, and real-time livestock health monitoring, helping them increase productivity and access markets. Through our platform: Farmers can record critical data: from breeding dates to vaccination schedules, helping them make informed decisions. Training is accessible: even without smartphones, through group training features and farmer networks. Last-mile delivery of services: has improved, ensuring that even farmers in remote areas are included in this digital revolution. Our goal is not just to provide technology but to empower farmers to use it effectively, driving lasting change. We are seeing a positive ripple effect in the communities we serve, with over 400,000 farmers currently benefiting from our platform, and our vision is to scale this impact to reach 2 million farmers in the next three years. 🚀 The Future is Digital, and Small-Scale Farmers are Key to It 🚀 As technology continues to shape the future of agriculture, the potential for growth and innovation is enormous. With more farmers being connected to digital platforms, we are witnessing a shift toward sustainability, higher yields, and improved livelihoods. This is just the beginning. As we at DigiCow continue to expand our reach and refine our solutions, we are committed to ensuring that small-scale farmers remain at the center of this digital agricultural revolution. We believe that by empowering small-scale farmers, we are not just transforming agriculture but shaping the future of food security and economic growth in Africa.
