Investing in Children and their Societies (ICS SP) is implementing a Gender Transformative Parenting Intervention to improve Early Childhood Development (ECD) outcomes for children aged 0-3 years born to adolescent parents (15-19 years) while promoting caregiver well-being. Collaborating with stakeholders from the, Directorate of Social Development, @Directorate of Children Services, County Ministry of Health, and County Ministry of Social Services, Gender, Youth, and Culture. This initiative aims to improve early childhood development outcomes for children aged 0-3 years while enhancing the capabilities, well-being, and service utilization of parents and caregivers. It also seeks to strengthen the capacity of government social services and health workforce. Additionally, the project will expand the evidence base on the cost and cost-effectiveness of parenting interventions that promote ECD outcomes, providing valuable guidance for county governments on effectively implementing gender-transformative parenting interventions within existing health, social welfare, and child protection service delivery systems. #EarlyChildhoodDevelopment #GenderTransformative #ParentingSupport #AdolescentMothers #NurturingCare #ChildWellBeing #CaregiverSupport #ECD #YouthEmpowerment #ICS_SP #APHRC #CollaborativeCare #InclusiveParenting #ChildDevelopment #HealthAndWellBeing Terre des Hommes Netherlands in Africa Amref Health Africa UK UNICEF Early Childhood Development Action Network (ECDAN) Global Parenting Initiative Parenting for Lifelong Health Tanzania ECD Network NURTURING CARE Beatrice Nyakwaka Ogutu Kudely Sokoine Sabrina Majikata Njeru Nancy Macrine Otuge Lovender Otieno Dennis Kitsao Dennis Chirchir Joseph Ogol Evance Aundo estelle akissi kouadio Ruth Amamo Calvin Onyango Sharlyne Odiyo Connie Ndeleko UNICEF Parenting for Lifelong Health Global Parenting Initiative The Freedom Fund polycarp musonye Moureen Ochieng Calvin Onyango Women for Women International UN Women

About us
Investing in Children and their Societies (ICS-SP) is an innovative African NGO that works in rural areas of Africa together with families, communities, and other stakeholders to create safe and nurturing environments for children to reach their full potential. At the very core of our work is Skilful Parenting and Ending Violence against Children. These are embedded in well-targeted economic empowerment and agribusiness programmes that aim to improve household income and food security. In our experience, this combined approach leads better chances of sustainably securing the wellbeing of children and families. Our strong capacity continues to enable us to execute at grass-roots level and at the same time connect to governments, expert organizations, CSOs and other stakeholders. Working together with a range of stakeholders has led to better programming that has resulted to stronger, capable and connected families where children are nurtured well and protected from all forms of violence. Our focus is on East Africa, building on our longstanding presence in Western Kenya, Northern Tanzania and lately in Côte d’Ivoire.

This week, the #Kuimarisha #ECD project participated in a community dialogue forum in Malava Sub-County, addressing critical issues impacting the community. We unpacked stereotypical gender norms that limit male involvement in parenting, the increasing rates of adolescent pregnancies that hinder access to education, and the widespread issue of violence against women (#VAW). In collaboration with key stakeholders we are committed to supporting the mobilization of girls and caregivers for Gender Transformative Parenting training and continuing sensitization efforts at all community Barazas. #KuimarishaECD #CommunityDialogue #GenderEquality #MaleInvolvement #AdolescentPregnancy #AccessToEducation #EndVAW #GenderTransformativeParenting #CaregiverSupport #BarazaSensitization #MalavaSubCounty #EmpowerGirls #StereotypeChallengers

Every child has a right to quality education, lifelong learning, and protection from harm. When children have access to education and are safe, Kenya can reduce poverty, close the gap on inequality, and support sustainable growth. Through the Malezi Mema Elimu Bora project, Investing in Children and their Societies (ICS SP) is working with partners to improve education and protection for 3,000 children in public primary schools in Nairobi, Kiambu, Machakos, Kisumu, and Busia. By 2026, these children will not only learn better but also understand their rights and develop the skills to become responsible and productive citizens. #EducationForAll #ChildProtection #EqualOpportunities #SustainableDevelopment #ICS #Kenya #JobOpening #VACPrevention #ProjectCoordinator #ChildProtection #CareerOpportunity #JoinOurTeam Terre des Hommes Netherlands in Africa Amref Health Africa UK UNICEF Early Childhood Development Action Network (ECDAN) Global Parenting Initiative Parenting for Lifelong Health Tanzania ECD Network NURTURING CARE Beatrice Nyakwaka Ogutu Kudely Sokoine Sabrina Majikata Njeru Nancy Macrine Otuge Lovender Otieno Dennis Kitsao Dennis Chirchir Joseph Ogol Evance Aundo estelle akissi kouadio Ruth Amamo Calvin Onyango Sharlyne Odiyo Connie Ndeleko UNICEF Parenting for Lifelong Health Global Parenting Initiative The Freedom Fund polycarp musonye Moureen Ochieng Calvin Onyango Women for Women International UN Women
