♻️Closing the Loop—Literally!♻️ This week, KEPRO Kenya's CEO James Odongo and Operations Manager Isaiah Mumo led a visit to POLYAFRIC INDUSTRIES, one of KEPRO’s contracted recyclers for flexible mono post-consumer packaging waste. Walking through their facility, we witnessed firsthand the power of circularity in action-waste that would have ended up in landfills is now transformed into garbage bin liners and other sustainable products. A true testament to the fact that waste is only waste if wasted! Seeing the dedication of recyclers like POLYAFRIC INDUSTRIES underscores why producer responsibility is key in driving real environmental impact. Through strategic partnerships, we’re not just recycling, we are harnessing value from waste, creating jobs, and promoting a cleaner, greener future. Let’s keep pushing the boundaries of sustainability together! #KEPRO #CircularEconomy #Sustainability #Recycling #ProducerResponsibility #WasteToValue #GreenFuture

Marking WORLD RECYCLING DAY with an immersive TAKA TOUR! To celebrate World Recycling Day, we took some of our members on a transformative Taka Tour, offering a rare glimpse into Kenya’s waste value chain—from disposal to recycling! Stop 1: The Landfill Our journey began at Dandora Dumpsite, Kenya’s largest landfill, where we witnessed firsthand the scale of waste disposal and the urgent need for sustainable waste management solutions. Stop 2: The Aggregator Next, we visited Dandora Green Recyclers, a key waste aggregator specializing in plastic recycling. Here, we explored the critical role of waste sorting in enhancing recycling efficiency and reducing landfill overflow. Stop 3 & 4: The Recycler Our final stops took us to POLYAFRIC INDUSTRIES and Bottle Logistics East Africa Limited where we observed the fascinating processes of polythene and glass recycling—turning discarded materials into valuable resources. This experience was a powerful reminder that waste is only waste if we waste it! By embracing the circular economy, we can transform waste into opportunity and contribute to a greener, more sustainable future. #KEPROinAction #WorldRecyclingDay #CircularEconomy

Championing Circularity at the Nairobi Street Food Festival! As a leader in circularity, #KEPRO was proud to join in as the Sustainability Partner at the Nairobi Street Food Festival, an electrifying event that brought together 8,000+ attendees celebrating the diversity of food and culture in the country. Our goal? To drive a culture of responsible waste management and showcase the power of the circular economy especially on the recovery of post-consumer non-hazardous packaging which is our primary mandate. We ensured that no waste/trash left the grounds, providing bins and manpower to handle all waste thereafter directing all collected waste to a Material Recovery Facility managed by Tai Frontier. 📊 Impact at a Glance: 🔹 327 KGs of Food waste Recovered 🔹 200 KGs of Paper/Carton recovered 🔹 48 KGs of Metal Cans recovered 🔹 386KGs of Plastic Recovered 🔹 300 KGs of Glass Recovered 🔹 548 KGs of Non -recyclables Recovered 🔹 1809 KGs of Total waste Recovered To demonstrate the true value of proper disposal and circular solutions, we distributed free compost made from previously recycled food waste. This initiative highlights how waste can be transformed into valuable resources, reinforcing #KEPRO’s commitment to closing the loop on waste and driving Kenya toward a more sustainable, circular future.
