Fodder establishment is a crucial element in livestock production. Understanding the crude protein values of fodder is important in preparing rations. The concept of quality foil does not end here. A farmer must harvest fodder at the right stage to meet the targeted nutritional feeds.

Extension education in agriculture entails disseminating information and scientific knowledge from experts to farmers. However, experts must assess agricultural problems and farmers' needs to make the most appropriate recommendations. Extension experts use farm visits as a primary approach to evaluating training needs and production-related problems. Last week, WingFarm visited Murang'a youth farmers to evaluate and provide guidance on the most appropriate agricultural solutions and practices. #kilimonimboka

WingFarm had an opportunity to be part of a broad conversation on transforming food systems during the GS Summit held on Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) grounds. The event was graced by stakeholders from various sectors of our economy to discuss key issues affecting our food systems and the challenges of achieving food security in Africa. WingFarm led a discussion on how the youth can be involved in policy-making processes and how farmers can balance traditional farming techniques with new innovative farming techniques. In realization of the great opportunities available for the youth in agriculture and entrepreneurship, all youths must remain innovative and mindful towards achieving food security.

As Youths in Kenya right now, with the ever increasing unemployment rate, we need to look at agriculture as a business. it's something you can start with minimum capital, our plea is only for the government and other stakeholders to create favorable environment to promote agriculture as a major source of income for the youths, and also promoting sustainable agricultural development in our country. Thanks to WingFarm for coming to inspect our recently established bsf farm and rabbit farm after a complete Training on Agribusiness. USAID #KilimoniMboka #FarmingisBusiness

WingFarm participated in third edition of the National Indigenous Seeds, Food and Culture Harvest Fair held on 9- 10th October 2024 at Nyando Community Seed Bank, Kisumu County. The theme of this year’s Indigenous Seed and Food Fair was inspired by the theme of the 2024 World Food Day whose focus is ‘Right to food for a better life and a better future.’ The aim of the 2024 Indigenous Seeds and Food Harvest Fair was to sensitize farmers of the need to conserve indigenous seeds to promote food security and appraise the vital role played by community seed banks in Kenya. #OurFoodOurCultureOurLife #KilimoNiMboka

Azolla, No? Wolffia arrhizal surpasses the growth of Azolla in your ponds. Azolla farmers will confess that algae and lack of shade are the most common inhibitors of Azolla farming. Did you know that your Azolla ponds will prefer Wolffia arrhizal to Azolla? Remember, any unwanted living organisms on your farm are weeds or parasites!
