The term 'Impure' is defined by Merriam-Webster as unclean, dirty, mixed with something else that is usually not as good. Our CEO, Wangeci Mūrage, had the privilege of attending the premiere of IMPURE, a powerful coming-of-age film that tackles the stigma of period shaming. Inspired by real-life tragedies, the film highlights the taboo around menstruation and the silence that often leads to degradation and shame for many girls and women. The event was graced by industry heavyweights including Makena Mathiu, Peter Mudamba, Krysteen Savane, and Janet Mbugua, who gave a moving performance as the narrator and a strong advocate for the girl child.
