Mwingi is a startup company and was founded in Q3 2019. Mwingi developed an innovative and scalable franchise model for retail trading in rural Africa. With our solution we create a win-win for entire communities, the Mwingi franchisees as well as for our investors. Our Mission: Create jobs and end poverty in rural areas by empowering local retail entrepreneurs to serve base-of-the pyramid populations with affordable quality products. Our Vision: “Everywhere for Everyone” – establishing Africa´s largest last mile trading network with independent distribution outlets, owned and operated by local entrepreneurs. Mwingi started in Kenya, where the business model was tested successfully and is now ready to be rolled-out.

Our chairman Andreas visited new MWINGI sites yesterday. Here’s his post. We’re so excited. 142 shops and growing.
In the beautiful Kajiado county, right on the border to Tanzania, our geographic expansion team is conducting a survey to identify suitable sites for our new MWINGI shops, applying a methodology which has been developed in many years of practice and enables MWINGI to find perfect spots for our franchise. So happy and humbled that I could accompany Daniel and Eric today. I hope you enjoy these pictures as they may give you an idea how blessed we are to serve such beautiful people.

Mwingi in May 2024: well capitalized for continuous growth, after an internal finance round with existing shareholders showing their faith and stocking up their shares in company. Celebrating our ESOP!!!!
Today was a great day for Mwingi Kenya Ltd. We introduced the company ESOP and granted the first batch of options to our key team members. MWINGI is one of the very few Kenyan companies that has successfully incorporated a fully flagged ESOP according to Kenyan laws and regulations. Celebrated together with our partners from C&R Group who helped us a great deal with setting up, incorporating and administering the Mwingi ESOP Trust which holds the ESOP shares. So happy for our team!

It seems to be ignored by Western media but East Africa and in particular Kenya are suffering one of the worst floodings ever caused by uninterrupted heavy rains for weeks. Large parts of the country are literally under water. In the attached pictures you can see how MWINGI, Kenya’s truly rural last mile trading company does not shy away from its task to deliver essential food and beverage products to underserved communities throughout the country, more needed than ever, despite all challenges. Mission impossible made possible by the relentless efforts of our heroic team.
