Yesterday, the Nairobi Securities Exchange PLC hosted players within the Renewable Energy Sector for a breakfast roundtable at the Exchange. The breakfast roundtable themed, 'Leveraging the capital markets for growth capital' brought together different industry associations and players within the renewable energy space including Africa Minigrid Developers Association (AMDA), Electric Mobility Association of Kenya (EMAK), Association For Women in Energy and Extractives in Kenya (AWEIK), Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE) The engaging discussions centered around enhancing access to affordable and patient green financing, capital markets regulations, access to technical assistance for issuers and ESG Compliance. A big thank you to Sarah Makena from FSD Kenya and Ms Cynthia Mbaru from Dyer & Blair Investment Bank for their insightful contributions in the panel session. This week we hosted the Association of Family Business Enterprises for an insightful breakfast session at the NSE trading floor. The breakfast roundtable themed, 'Enhancing access to capital markets for Family-Owned Businesses' highlighted the role of the Exchange in addressing topical issues among FOBs such us access to financing, liquidity, exit, succession planning, business valuation and further emphasized the critical role of transparency, integrity, and good governance in attracting potential investors. We would like to appreciate the Association of Family Owned Business Enterprises and its members who made this session a success. A big thank you to Luke Ombara, from the Capital Markets Authority- Kenya, and Francis Mwangi, CFA, FCCA Mwangi, Executive Director at Kestrel Capital for sharing their insights with our attendees.
