Self-representation in court can be challenging especially for those who are not familiar with the legal system. At #NLAS, we assist in coaching and training vulnerable and marginalized persons on self-representation in any matter before a court in which they are parties. Our legal aid providers ensure that individuals granted legal aid under self-representation have the support and guidance they need to navigate the legal system successfully. We also help in drafting the legal proceedings and effect service of legal documents where necessary. Our aim is to see justice done to all irrespective of social status. #NLAS #LegalAid #AccessToJustice

Legal aid is essential in guaranteeing equal access to justice for all, especially the marginalized, vulnerable and economically disadvantaged persons as provided under the constitution. Our legal aid services extend to civil cases including employment, administrative, constitutional, and social cases where we give assistance in the form of advice and representation where necessary. By being the sole government agency tasked to offer legal aid, #NLAS ensures that members of the public who cannot afford the court process are assisted by legal professionals for #FREE. #NLAS #LegalAid #AccessToJustice

Access to legal aid is an important aspect of legal rights which ensures that people with minimal financial means are able to access justice. At the National Legal Aid Service, we believe that legal aid services are not just optional and a favor to the public but are part of the country’s justice system. Access to legal aid ensures that that the poor, marginalized and vulnerable persons are treated equally and fairly within the justice system. We continue to prioritize the legal rights of the marginalized groups with a legal aid scheme that is accessible, transparent and available to everyone. #NLAS #LegalAid #AccessToJustice

Having legal disputes especially between close relatives can be emotionally draining. That is why at #NLAS, we have incorporated counselling in our legal aid services as a tool to help heal and reconcile parties during our mediation processes. Our counselling sessions are integrated within the legal services to ensure the emotional wellbeing of our clients and to bridge the gap between mental and legal issues. When you come to #NLAS feeling the weight of your legal burden, we will ensure you leave when everything is sorted and emotionally settled. #NLAS #LegalAid #AccessToJustice

Provision of legal aid is a basic right as it ensures that everyone, regardless of their financial situation, has access to legal assistance when in need. #NLAS is providing #FREE legal assistance to ensure that even the poorest members of society have access to justice and are represented by competent legal counsel. Provision of legal aid enables us to empower the marginalized and vulnerable communities so that they can enforce their constitutional rights. We are driven with the knowledge that without our intervention, many low-income individuals, vulnerable and marginalized persons will not be able to access justice and protect their legal rights. #NLAS #LegalAid #AccessToJustice
