  • At Old Mutual, we’re thrilled to join millions across the globe for this year’s Earth Hour, a powerful movement organized by WWF-Kenya to unite people in taking action for our planet. Earth Hour is all about inspiring collective responsibility—whether it’s through zero-waste cooking, planting trees, meditating to reflect on our connection to nature, or simply unplugging from devices. It’s a moment to pause, think, and act for the environment we all share. This year, we’re proud to participate by turning off the Old Mutual Tower lights—a small but symbolic gesture that shines a big spotlight on our commitment to sustainability and protecting the Earth. Switching off isn’t just about darkness; it’s about sparking hope, raising awareness, and showing that every action counts. Join us on 22nd March 2025, 8.30 pm as we dim the lights and brighten our resolve to build a greener future together. We’re proud to be part of this global stand for the planet—because at Old Mutual, we believe a thriving Earth means a thriving tomorrow for all. #EarthHour #BiggestHourForEarth

  • A Year of Growth and Resilience: Our 2024 Financial Results Today, we are proud to share our 2024 financial results, reflecting a year of significant progress and resilience. We are pleased to report a KES 2.6 billion profit before tax for the year ended December 2024, with profit after tax from continuing operations rising to KES 1.3 billion, up from KES 0.2 billion in 2023. This growth was driven by: ✅ Strong performance in our asset management business (+KES 0.3B) ✅ Investment income growth (+KES 2.3B) ✅ Cost efficiencies, including a 49% reduction in finance costs While we experienced higher claim costs - with KES 1.5 billion more in 2024 compared to 2023—our unwavering commitment to protecting our customers remains at the heart of our business. Exceptional events, including floods in Kenya, impacted insurance profit margins, but we stood by our customers when they needed us most. Looking Ahead Our strategy remains anchored in our victory condition: being our customers' first choice in sustaining, growing, and protecting their prosperity. Through operational efficiency, innovation, and customer-first solutions, we continue to build a solid foundation for future growth. • The Old Mutual Foundation was honoured to engage with Kisii University students and faculty on critical topics: #WorkReadiness, #FinancialEducation, and #RetirementPlanning. Our discussions were deeply informed by the Old Mutual Financial Services Monitor, a vital tool for understanding evolving financial attitudes. For students, we focused on: 1. Investment protection and scam prevention. 2. Strategies for success in a competitive job market. 3. The power of financial literacy in informed decision-making. For faculty, we explored: 1. Industry-employer collaboration for retirement readiness. 2. The financial and psychological aspects of retirement preparation. A significant takeaway: Mentorship is indispensable in guiding young people’s financial journeys. Experienced professionals offer invaluable personalised guidance, real-world insights, and continuous support. We're committed to empowering the next generation with the knowledge and tools for financial success. #FinancialLiteracy #Mentorship #RetirementPlanning #OldMutual #KisiiUniversity #WorkReadiness #FinancialEducation
