  • We joined officials from the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, and key partners in Machakos to develop Kenya’s first-ever MPOX Response Guidelines for learning institutions. These guidelines will provide schools with clear measures to prevent, manage, and respond to MPOX, helping protect the health and well-being of learners across the country. Together, we are committed to creating safe learning environments for all.

  • We are thrilled to have partnered with the Turkana County Government in a #COP29 simulation where children's voices on climate change took center stage. In their powerful statements, children urged decision-makers to prioritize their voices and commit to a climate agenda that secures their future. It’s time we heed this call and support their incredible efforts to protect our planet. Together, let’s champion a sustainable future with young environmental advocates at the forefront.

  • Save the Children's Wajir Field Office officially handed over a consignment of essential medicines to the Wajir County Department of Health. These medications will be used to treat childhood illnesses at healthcare facilities and by community health promoters within local communities. Through the Integrated Community Case Management (ICCM) project, Save the Children is committed to supporting the Department of Health in preventing child mortalities from treatable illnesses. The project prioritizes empowering community health promoters to deliver both preventive and curative care for the three primary causes of death in children under five: pneumonia, diarrhea, and malaria. This consignment will address medication stockouts by replenishing essential supplies, ensuring healthcare providers have the necessary resources to offer timely, effective treatments.

  • The climate crisis threatens to undermine our progress on education – so business as usual will not work. We must do things differently. We must enable the education sector to anticipate and prepare for climate shocks, invest in climate adaptation and mitigation strategies. To understand how climate change is affecting learning in Dadaab and Kakuma kindly read the report in the link below. https://bit.ly/3NF0M3R

  • Today, we held an advocacy meeting with Nairobi City County Government and Sub-County health teams to discuss the sustainable use of the ThinkMD platform to improve healthcare for children. The ThinkMD digital health platform enables frontline healthcare workers to assess and diagnose common childhood illnesses thus enabling them to make accurate healthcare decisions. By using digital health innovations, we aim to support child health and drive better health outcomes across Nairobi County and Kenya at large.
