In addition, forensic scientists may use sampling techniques and mathematical modelling to estimate the amount and distribution of heavy metals in the environment. All of these methods help forensic scientists identify sources of heavy metal pollution and determine appropriate remediation strategies.

This may involve digital scraping, where data is automatically retrieved and organized for analysis. Once the data is collected, investigators use a range of tools and techniques to analyze it, such as text analysis, image analysis, and location tracking.

Mobile phones, in particular, are a major source of location data due to the ubiquity of location-based services and apps that rely on GPS to provide users with personalized information such as traffic updates, local events, and even nearby restaurants and stores. Social media platforms, too, often have location tracking features that not only enable friends to know each other's whereabouts but also allow companies to send targeted advertisements based on the user's location. Law enforcement agencies also increasingly use location data to locate suspects and investigate crimes. Social media has become a powerful tool for investigators and law enforcement agencies to gather evidence and locate suspects or witnesses in criminal investigations. Investigators often use social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to monitor online activity and gather information that can lead to potential leads or suspects. For example, investigators can use public information on social media, such as comments, photos, and check-in locations, to track the movements of suspects or potential witnesses. Additionally, social media analytics tools can analyze data from these platforms and identify patterns or relationships that could be relevant to an investigation.

Our CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Project Justice Initiative is a project mainly designed to support marginalized individuals in accessing justice and combating discrimination in the legal system. We are proud partners with T.P.J.I The Project Justice Initiative), one of the few organizations in Africa that conducts forensic investigations pro bono to uncover the truth in criminal cases. Since 2013, we have been working hand-in-hand with T.P.J.I. to enhance the criminal justice process and deliver justice to those who would otherwise not have access to it.

They contribute to the integrity of legal processes by shedding light on the strengths and weaknesses of evidence, helping judges and juries make the most informed decisions. When grounded in a comprehensive review of relevant facts, forensic reports act as a critical bridge between scientific analysis and legal judgments, working towards more just and accurate outcomes in legal disputes. Expert DNA reports need thorough reviews of all relevant materials, questioning testing methods and scientific reasoning. Without core evidence analysis, trust in opinions is compromised.
