Exciting News for Renewable Energy Enthusiasts! 🌍⚡ In accordance with Section 162 of The Energy Act, 2019, The Authority has officially introduced The Energy (Net-Metering) Regulations, 2024. These new regulations are designed for renewable energy technologies with an installed capacity of less than 1 MW. The gazetted regulations allow electricity consumers who generate their own power to supply excess electricity back to the grid and receive compensation or use the credited energy at other times. Under these regulations, licensees will enter into net-metering arrangements with consumers on a first come, first served, and non-discriminatory basis. The installed capacity limits are set as follows: -Domestic customers: Up to 4 kW for single-phase supply and up to 10 kW for three-phase supply. -Commercial and industrial customers: Up to 1 MW, capped at the maximum load demand in kW achieved in the twelve months preceding the net-metering application. This is a significant step forward in promoting sustainable energy solutions and empowering consumers to actively participate in the energy market! 🌱🔋 #RenewableEnergy #NetMetering #SustainableFuture #CleanEnergy
