The Pan African Medical Journal(PAMJ) is an electronic format only, peer reviewed , Open Access medical journal that published its first issue in 2008. In the succeeding years, PAMJ has gone on to publish over 400 articles and is currently listed in Africa Index Medicus, EBSCO, Directory of Open Access Journals(DOAJ), Embase, Scopus, CABI, and Pubmed Central/Pubmed. PAMJ is supported by the African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET). PAMJ is a member of the Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association(OASPA). Vision To be the leading medical journal in Africa and one of the best in the world. Mission To create, stimulate and perpetuate a culture of information sharing and publishing amongst researchers and other health actors of the African health scene in ways that will contribute to availability of health information, better understanding of Africa specificities and to improve health outcomes of the people on the continent. PAMJ publishes original scientific studies, reviews and comments on current health initiatives, project and work reports, personal experiences, educational articles and papers commenting on factors affecting health. PAMJ receives articles for publication from doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, students, policy makers, government bodies and others. PAMJ's target audience includes health professionals, academic researchers, students, policy makers and anybody with an interest in Africa health issues.

Publishing a supplement with PAMJ Some information the supplement sponsor should have before contacting the journal include: A theme, title, and scope of the supplement The target audience for the call for paper: who will be eligible to submit manuscripts for the supplement? An estimate of the number of manuscripts to be included in the supplement which should not be less than 5.
