We just wrapped up the Xcelherate Entrepreneurship Challenge with a final pitching and awarding event! Five resilient entrepreneurs took the stage to pitch their businesses and three claimed the top spots. Congratulations to our top three winners: Loise Ngugi of Etiba Home-Health, Evelyne Mishek of Muthure Health Centre, and Eunice Wangari of milele eventique! We also want to congratulate the other two finalists Gloria Itooi of Hopewell Firm and Salome Mwangi of Sheer Wellness for making it so far in the competition together with the other 15 business owners that were part of Cohort 1 of the Excelherate 10 week program. A huge thank you to our amazing judges some of who flew in from the US and South Africa including Anton C. Bizzell, MD and TaRaena Yates of Bizzell, Vuyisa Qabaka , Herbert Thuo of Ansa Africa, Christopher Odongo of WYLDE International and Eunice R. Gatama (RG) of I&M Bank Ltd . This week, in collaboration with Strathmore Business School (SBS), Government Of Makueni County, Top Tier Limited and USAID, we delivered an information session on the importance of strategy to over 35 hotel owners based in Makueni. The session was graced by H.E. Dep. Governor Lucy Mulili. It was geared towards empowering hospitality entrepreneurs on how to leverage strategy to improve profitability; acquire and retain more customers; and most importantly, identify the key cogs that will ensure the highest quality of service is delivered consistently.
