Today, WaterKiosk Africa in conjunction with Oxfam International, have commissioned and handed over the first system of the 6th generation, Winture Planet Cube Solar Water Desalination technology at Kibokoni, Old Town Mombasa. The Kibokoni community faces several water challenges including water scarcity, contamination and salinity intrusion, making it the ideal location to receive a solar water desalination system for its drinking water with a capacity of 25,000litres/ day. The new solar desalination system version represents our commitment to improving water accessibility and sustainability. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, this system is designed to enhance efficiency and reliability, setting a new benchmark in the water desalination industry. It will help address water scarcity and provide clean water solutions for the community. Further to the handover, an intensive training exercise has been conducted to the local operators on technical and business management skills of this landmark project. The system is manufactured by Boreal Light GmbH and maintained by WaterKiosk Africa. #EmpoweringLocalCommunities #oldtownmombasa #cleanwater #solarenergy

Today we culminated a week's long sensitization exercise on the importance of clean and safe drinking water in Kwale County. Access to clean and safe drinking water is crucial for maintaining good health and preventing diseases. We urged the community to avoid improper waste disposal to their water sources and to practice proper storage of their drinking water in clean, covered containers to prevent recontamination. By understanding the importance of clean water, & practicing safe water management, communities can reduce the risk of diseases and improve overall well-being. #WaterIsLife #sensitization #SDG6

For two days we had fruitful engagement with Burani residents in Kwale County on the importance of clean & safe drinking water. Most of the residents use their eyes to determine if the water is clean to use or not. After conducting few tests from the different sources they had, it was clear that it is impossible to determine from just looking with your bare eyes whether the water is safe or unsafe. Ensuring the residents access clean & safe water involves a combination of proper treatment of the available water, and the residents practicing proper hygiene. #CleanWater #sensitization #WaterIsLife #EmpoweringLocalCommunities

Meet Mesaid Rashid Salim, one of our coastal region operators, empowered with knowledge and skills from the WaterKiosk academy. Mesaid operates from Mtongwe WaterKiosk and she can troubleshoot any issue arising from the system. As an operator, her role doesn’t end by just producing and dispensing water but also she sensitizes people on the advantages of taking hygiene drinking water. The area is inhibited with a huge number of lower class people doing menial jobs and water in that region is quite a challenge. Most of the water used comes from shallow wells, which are not only salty but also contaminated contributing to rise of waterborne related diseases. #empoweringlocalcommunities #waterislife #successstory https://lnkd.in/dM6RgZrG

From July 25th to 26th, WaterKiosk Academy hosted two groups of diploma students from the Kenya Water Institute for a study tour at the Assembly Hall. The tour aimed to provide practical exposure to advanced water treatment technologies, specifically solar water desalination. We believe that hands-on experience in a real-world environment is essential for the comprehensive education of future water engineers. WaterKiosk Academy is dedicated to developing capacity and competency, offering certificate programs with training in both technical and soft skills. Special thanks to our trainers Eng. moses shikuku, the Technical Manager at WaterKiosk Africa, and FRANKLINE MWANGI for leading the sessions. #waterkioskacademy #kewi #partnership
